Title: -50 For Lund +100 For Unleashed
Post by: Jtrain on July 29, 2014, 05:28:48 PM
I'll keep this as short as I can.

Lund Racing tuner will cost you 600$. You'll get sarcastic customer service and a terrible tune. Even from someone who doesn't know what a tune like this is supposed to feel like- I knew that it was supposed to be better (Dyno sheet confirmed that their tune was crap)

Torrie @ Unleashed: Literally the best customer service of any product I've ever purchased. It's almost weird. The tune is freakin killer, I went from Lund to Unleashed tunes without changing or adding any parts-- Just to see. Day and nigh improvement, Feels like I upgraded the turbos.

Going 3bar tomorrow and Torrie just confirmed we'll be sending data logs back and forth (Which makes me incredibly happy) just to make sure everything is solid.

It really is hard to find people like Torrie in this industry and man am I glad I came across him!

I have no experience with Lund but I can confirm that Torrie is the goddamn TRUTH. Oh and if you think your tune is good now, just wait until you get that 3 Bar tune on it, I just did myself this past weekend and the car is unreal.

Having my shop put it all in. They're going to gap my plugs and slap in the tstat too.

Thanks for the reply, even more excited now.

He's trying to talk me into meth--- but it sounds like a pretty big PITA for a daily driver.

Going to see what she does in the 1/4 mile?  Be interested in knowing what a Tune+3BAR XSport does.  Should be mid 13s?

That was my goal. I'd like to get below 13.5 as that's what my Jeep SRT8 ran.

I would think dependent on DA, would be high 12's low 13's.

I seriously doubt that. I'd be shocked if I got 13s, honestly.

The way these ride and how quiet they are makes them seem slower than they are.   I wasn't expecting to be at 13.5 in my car at altitude. It feels fast but not that fast.  With a tune your talking at least same power as stock Jeep and similar weight.  Now the 6 speed trams and crazy low end torque output should make it run just as good as the Jeep.

Really excited to see what you run.

The gearing on this car is a little weird, 2nd is super short and 3rd is WAAAY too long. I'm still going back and forth with Data logs and tuning- To be clear-- I'm very happy with Torrie and what we're doing.

The car really needs an exhaust, I'm debating if I like this truck enough to make that investment. Maybe a good time slip will do that.

I'm actually going to take my car from VTA back to recirculating today- I'm convinced that, that is not helping my cause.

EDIT: And to be more clear. I'm not expecting my TTV6 to act like a 6.1L Hemi.. What I am looking for is that my 5AT G35TT felt like at lower horsepower. I'm starting to get the feeling that the heads of this motor isn't meant for that though.

EDIT #2: I'm also investigating why my SUV shifts at 5500 RPMS too.

Wrong turbos for top end you get 2 out of 3 with turbos.  Low mid or high.   Used to be only 1 of 3

My explorer sport has been 13.6 in the heat.  I expect low 13's in cold weather.

I want a better top end also

I believe the cutout will help high rpm breathing.

I will let you know once the catted DPs and cutout are on.
