This is a place holder for info on Virtual dyno and how we can utilize it for our cars by using SCT logs and 3rd or 4th gear pulls on a flat road to review our HP.
Why would you use this? If you're using a mail order tune you can take data logs for the tuner that will allow them to see what your car is doing. If you are playing with timing you want to get to a place where more timing doesn't add more power, you can only see this with a dyno. By utilizing this program you can get the car really close what the maximum output possible without spending HOURS for dyno time. After you think you're close THEN you head to the dyno to do some verification pulls. I'm getting my car dyno'd this week with the new turbos, I'll go out and do a log afterwords and do a comparison. Heck I'll do a log on the dyno for a comparison! :)

These are things I've researched for my car, we'll be adding all the other platforms information as well.
I will also do a video on how to use the program as soon as I can, need to get the car back from the shop first.

I am attaching a Ford Flex profile I built. I will also create a video to show you how to use it. The video will work for SCT csv file.
I thought the 2010-2012 non-PP SHO had a 2.73 & the PP SHO a 3.16. Is the 2013 different?
Since I am running smaller diameter tires which change my axle to an effective 3.40, do I have to adjust everything by the tire diameter difference?

You can edit the tire size.
If I have the wrong info then I can change BUT I got it right from the Ford Specifications list here:
http://media.ford.com/images/10031/2012_Taurus_Specs.pdf (http://media.ford.com/images/10031/2012_Taurus_Specs.pdf)
I could be wrong, but that may be the non-turbo vehicle.
Added some how to videos in the first post. Bob if you can show me tech spec to confirm the SHO final drive I'll update.
I also need frontal area and drag coefficient for the SHO so I can make an XML file for it.
Added SHO.zip which has both PP and non-PP configurations (final drive 3.16 vs 3.39)
If this is wrong I can update later.
Played around a bit with this tonight, my final numbers were a little disappointing compared to what it spit out the first go around (3800+ HP/5000+tq) ;D
I logged a 3rd gear run and ended up/with 399 HP 460ish TQ
That's still not too bad.

That's what I would expect on an F-150.

I see you didn't change it yet.
I'm at the dyno doing work! >:D
Sent from my phone with lots of misspelled words...
You can do virtual dyno runs with ScanXL too. Never gotten around to doing it, but I know its possible. Of course I'd rather get a real dyno than a virtual one.
I have the App "Dash command", I had to enter data , ( like weight ect)
So I do not know how accurate it is.
The one thing I do know the dealer must must of had 87 in it, because I got better results on the next tank (93) this was from that tank.

what did you enter for bsfc?
I started playing with this app yesterday, very cool! Interesting results.
Has anyone confirmed that the final gear on a SHO is in fact 2.73 & the PP SHO a 3.16 and not the ones in the XML which are 3.16 and 3.39

Per 2014 specs it's 2.77 and 3.16, respectively.
FiveLeeter918 is correct.
Those have been the gear ratios since 2010.
Non-PP = 2.77
PP = 3.16
The 3.39 I believe is in the (Non Ecoboost) PI models.
I have to dig up some old paperwork to confirm.

I have read that as well about the 3.39
Totally forgot about this.
Couple issues...
I can't get a profile to save, throws unhandled exceptions.
I can open runs but don't see anything on the graphs.
Any ideas?

on the runs, did you follow Mike's video about changing the data names that the program is expecting? If it doesn't know what data to pull it won't be able to display it. I believe that's Video 2.
Here's a comparison I just did of a few of my runs... I need more torque...

I did change the names but no joy.
I will watch Mikes vid, maybe I'm missing something.
Any chance you could plug one of my logs in and see if you can get it to work?
Anyone else get a virus warning? My Norton is removing the file saying it has WS.Reputation.1 virus
So I've got it somewhat working but I can't get the full pull to show on the graph.
394@5508 and 447@4068 but 4068 is where the graph starts even though the one I imported started about 2700

what did you do differently? Doing one for a friend based on this F-150 data and I'm getting 2183/3541 lol

sure email it to OKPerformanceFords@gmail.com when you get a chance.
Let me know if PP or reg, tire size and your weight.

I've got everything working I just can't figure out why its cutting off part of the pull now.

Try clicking in the window and then holding Ctrl and scrolling with your mouse to zoom in/out.
I've also noticed if you click on the RPM range on the left, it'll re-center it after you've zoomed any.
Maybe your default zoom is a little off.
Just playing around with this today. Think i've got it all set up except every time i try to load a run it tells me setting for Throttle Position not found. I am logging throttle angle actual and have that pasted into the TP column in virtual dyno. Is there something else i should be doing or do you HAVE to log throttle angle absolute?

Yes, I got the same thing. I just changed the name of throttle absolute to throttle position. Worked fine..

i tried that when i first started seeing the issue. no luck. do you have to log pid "throttle position absolute" for it to transfer into the software. IIRC i'm logging throttle position %
