Title: Halloween Night Drag Strip Results.
Post by: 802SHO on November 01, 2018, 09:51:30 AM
October 31st was the end of the 2018 season at New England Dragway.  I'm glad I was able to make it and meet up with ShoNoff again.  The air was good.  We let our cars cool off a bit before hitting the strip.  Over the course of the night it was closed down at least 3 times to clean up spills.  My first run was against a White Audi RS7.  He ran a 10.4 while I spun out to a 12.2!  That wasn't how I wanted to start off and the rest of the night it was hard to get a good launch with 60ft.

Tim and I both fought with our 60fts.  I changed my tire pressures a few times.  I think overall we had good times, Tim hit a new personal best!  Overall it was a lot of fun!  I did get a new personal best trap speed of 119!  I went for broke on this trip.  I also removed my passenger seat.  Doing that didn't help, seemingly made fighting for traction worse.

We ran eachother a couple times...really cool how close we were!  Can't wait to see it on video and share it with everyone once we get the video!  I ended up making 10 passes.  6 runs were 11.9's.  3 runs were 12.0's and my first run was a 12.2.  I will make sure to share my time slips very soon.  I didn't get home until 12:30am this morning lol!  At work now.

I did take some quick pics.  Porsche super car was there.  He didn't even launch his car, just eased into the throttle for easy 11.2's!

Great Night Andrew lots of fun. Traction was an issue for both of us as it was only 44 degrees most of the night. Best 60 foot I could get was a 1.83. Most were 1.85ish. I made roughly 12 runs I think. My best being a 12.51 and worst 17.62. I was having bogging/shifting problems every few runs. So any run you see in the 12.8's the car bogged hard at the top of first. Almost like it smashed the limiter and wouldn't let it shift. I did also hit 110mph 5/6 times tonight which made me very happy. My goal to start the season was 12.5@110. I ended at 12.51 @ 110.07. So really I cant complain. I know it has a 12.3 in it with that mph I just cant get the car to hook. This off season Im working on 60 foot time and weight. I don't think Im going to add much more power. With some weight reduction and traction I can see it sneaking into the upper 11's. That Porsche was insane last night. Trapping 142mph and basically rolling into the throttle the first 300 feet. My buddy Martin is working on the video now Ill have it posted shortly. Andrew had some real nice battles with a c5 corvette!!

Hell yeah!  Here is the video of me against the Corvette.  Also my best pass was when I came back from our first battle.  Enjoy.  Plus time slips from those two races.

And for the video. The last pass gives you an idea of a non methanol car vs a methanol car. We basically have the same mods other then a cat back exhaust and lowering springs. 802sho's car is no joke from the 1/8 mile on. He walked away from me like I was tied to a stump. Plus that 119mph has to be up there as one of the fastest stock turbo mph's I've ever seen.  :thumb:

We really should try to get to a track most of us car meet at and run next year. That would be really fun. Like the East Coast Sho nationals.

I wonder how big an issue this is. I have had this happen as well.
