Title: 14' Flex EB resonating noise 2500rpm
Post by: Anzioblack44 on October 04, 2015, 10:19:19 PM
So ive got this annoying buzzing /resonance happening at around 2500 regardless of gear or throttle position. Does the flex have a sound generator or should i be thinking exhaust equipment? It seems loudest when vehicle is not all the way warmed up or if ambient temps are cold? Any help would be great

Definitely sounds like an exhaust shield or possibly a loose underbelly pan.  Any servicing lately?

And welcome!

Where does it seem like it is coming from, front back, left, right...
Is it different if window(s) are open or closed?

Thanks for the replies. Noise is passenger side firewall or floor pan. Under light acceleration it comes on abruptly at that rpm and fades out pretty quick. if you hold gear in S and coast down below 2500 it fades very quick also.

I also can feel vibrations when sitting rear passenger side through floor pan. Very strange.

Ill mention it when i get in for axle clicking noise (thrust washer issue) hopefully they can track it down.

I was thinking it might be a faulty sound generator, though im not sure the flex has one?

First thing to check would be heat shields for the exhaust and the belly pan which can cause all sorts of mystery noises underneath.
