Since you will be able to run more pressure, octane tolerence will be better.
Right, but will it be 2 grand better?
Of course that will be a personal choice but I can see the possibility of buyers remorse.
Once you get past 15-16 psi on the tiny turbos IAT2 is going to rear its head and 93 doesn't tolerate high intake temps.
Just get my intercooler when they are finally released

There is unfortunately no unforeseen release date in the horizon for the intercooler on this platform IIRC! Z

matt, please lay down some facts about the custom intercooler so we can see what you are referring to. Right now, we only see a black box to take a poke at :)

Intercoolers, upgraded turbos, and I've heard from a reputable source tuning skills second to none.

It is a drop in had some issues of fitment on the first prototype. Keeps IAT2 within 25 degrees of ambient at WOT under most conditions (excluding extreme heat soak). The first prototype has a flow issue (still made 460hp to the wheels) that I corrected and am waiting for the manufacturer to correct the casting of the outlet tank. I'm confident the next version will fit better and have 2 psi less drop that this one that is already waaaaaay better than the stock intercoler.

Probably should divide up the topic before it derails any further from the OP's thread title.
Not doing so, and continuing on with an alleged intercooler discussion will for sure damn it to obscurity/oblivion and not serve either interest properly.
Especially if/when the time comes that the product is actually released.
Just a friendly suggestion.

Hey guys, I don't frequent this forum very often but the car in question has the prototype intercooler and xdi35 pump running on e30. Factory turbos are maxed for the most part. The drop in intercooler should retail around 650 plus shipping.

1) are you selling the pump?
2) you need your logo splashed on the xdi pump page :)
3) if the 35 just about maxes out the turbo, is there headroom in the 35 for the larger turbos? Or do you recommend the 60 for anyone planning to get larger turbos?
4) at $650 sounds like a heck of a deal for a drop in intercooler that performs ~50% better than stock (IIRC- prelim number show IAT within 30 degrees using the prototype versus 60+ on stock)
5) LMK when you're in the NoVA area, we need to get beers

heck more like +80 with the stock intercooler..... I don't travel like I used to, so not getting near VA any time soon that I can think of. I will be testing larger turbos next.. I'm at about 80% of the full pump capacity right now.

matts comment regarding the IC on face book. .
"It is stock size end tanks with the core going all the way to the end of the tank and is bar and plate instead of tube and fin.
Core is gaining 40% more volume but close to 120% more surface area. "
direct drop in place of stock intercooler

Well if all those numbers prove accurate, and the price stays the same, I would most likely be buying one as well. Kind of mind blowing that the gains are so substantial just by switching to bar-and-plate, with the core going all the way to the end tanks. If that's the case, couldn't you buy a bar-and-plate core in the proper dimensions. Then get some end tanks from a junk yard and have them attached to the new core. Or is this way more complicated than I'm making it sound?

haha very true. But I do wonder how much the cost would be to do it on your own... Anyone know the dimensions of the factory intercooler? I want to find out how much a properly sized bar-and-plate core would cost.
Im definitely signed up for one and a tune as soon as your ready!!

Not trying to burst the Bubble, but the install is a PIA, as we did this already
have to remove the front Bumper Cover, the AC Condenser, and lines,
the Radiator, and then the intercooler, and install the new one,
SO A/C RECHARGE, Radiator fluid, ETC, just being realistic, I AM STILL IN
i have a stock intercooler piece i can take measurements of if requested.

I still have not received my second (improved) prototype..... It should be worth the wait and have another 2 psi of boost available on the stock turbos compared to V1 which already made 460Hp to the tires.

Factory end tanks are plastic :( V1 of the intercooler use an aftermarket intercooler and just replaced the core with a higher flowing one with more surface area... V2 has newly designed end tanks to flow more air and have a flange like stock for ease of installation.

So if you had a 93 tune. 12.5 1/4 mile time HP area. What gains and such would you expect from this IC?
depends on what IAT2 was doing down the track.... if you were at 175-180 after the 1/8th mile you would have at 2-3 tenths and 3-4 mph of mph gain after the intercooler.
Any updates as to when the intercooler will be released, Matt?

Holy crap, who is seeing IAT2 temps that high. I've never seen temps that high in either the 2012 and 2013 cars. That is even before running meth.
That is exceptionally warm after a run. I have seen mine hit 170 in the lane, but at the end of a run I was normally at 110/120 on a 105f day with 125f pavement temps according to the laser

I never said anything about IATs. I just asked a simple question. What will this add to the performance of a 12.5 second car.

They heard ya. They were just letting you know that it's not a simple "X" amount of performance to be gained. How much you gain depends on a few factors, and one of them is Intake Air Temp. If you are running 12.5 and your IATs are super low, then an intercooler may not add much. If you're running 12.5 with very high IATs then an improved intercooler will add much more performance. So it depends on your individual case. If you have some data-logs or even just a few data points handy, I'm sure the guys can give you a much more specific expectation with this intercooler.
Now that makes sense. Thanks.
Yup on the source temp being relevant to gains.
Idle the car on black pavement for 5 minutes then launch hard from 1800-2000 rpm a d run from 0-110 while data logging spark1 spark2 knock, iat2, speed, rpm and time.. we can make a pretty good guess from there.

1 psi less drop across the intercooler than last prototype

Did he mention why a new tune would be necessary?
It doesn't matter to.me, I am GH tuned, but I'm curious why it's needed.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Not specifically. But it would be fair to assume that the signicant alteration in efficiency is the reason. Much like adding ATP turbos would be. Have seen this on the Edge as well.
To the best of my knowledge the tune needs to compensate for the added pressure drop of the upgraded intercooler. (rumored to be ~2psi). i want to say it was a "pressure ratio" table that needed the adjustment? i know it can be tuned for 10-12 and 13+. i'm really hoping brad can work his magic with it. maybe he can provide some insight

While I'd be in for a group buy, it'd be nice to eventually see some actual numbers of how this performs. What's supposed to be the advantage of this IC?
- Amount of air it can flow
- cooling capability
- BOTH?
I know normal driving (staying out of boost) in anywhere from 65 F to 95 F ambient, I normally see a temp difference of about 30 degrees between ambient and IAT2.
30 degrees is a LOT for staying out of boost. Imagine what happens while IN boost. Why spraying with meth is essential to added power. Check out some of the datalogs posted throughout this forum. You can see the temp rises on WOT runs for yourself. Pretty shocking.

I have been on the phone with Matt a bit lately... this WILL require a retune for sure...I've seen the datalogs and there are changes to the wastegate to accommodate the bigger IC among other things.
I did speak to LMS about this as well, and they will require at least a couple guys to get theirs dyno tuned before they offer a remote tune for it.
I am on the list to get one when they come out. So we will see! Money is already set aside.
On a side note... this IC coupled with the bigger HPFP and E30 should practically eliminate the need for meth to get into the lower 12's consistently and safely....

sure hoping Matt decides to charge an install price and I can drive to him and have it installed.
I'm excited too, and am on board to be within that 1st grouping of owners to receive them.
I'm sure LMS will be interested in tuning with it too, as I and BJ/SBS will be vying for dyno time respectively.
Although a group buy sounds great, and will benefit many, I don't mind being in that 1st group to pay full price. I mean after all, it's nice for Matt @ GH to recoup his costs after all.
It's also super important to reward those few vendors still left out there, that are investing in the R&D for the platform, as well as doing what they can, to propel the platform forward even further.
Getting more and more excited about this as the days keep ticking by.......

Not gonna lie, this, a CHRA upgrade, and HPFP are all on my "wish" list.
Intercooler really should be first on the list. Strengthen the core first.

Matt is finalizing his turbo upgrades as well...
Should be available soon. $1800 price
Tag for them... he has a guy running his prototypes in CO (DA of 6000+) running 12.5's reliably with no issues...
Sooo I have turbos and the IC money set aside... will be interesting...
As far as RD Gearhead is currently working on Turbos, IC's, Cams(part of a motor build)and some other goodies.....
I'm going to worth remotely with him through a local shop I trust to attempt to develop a solution to strengthen the PTU...
GH is really doing some cool stuff...

That's impressive. I've been stuck in the 13's here in Utah. Our DA is similar. My turbo's can only sustain 12.8-13.0 psi after 4500rpm.
Maybe I'm blind or stupid or both but I can't find a price point anywhere on this. Have they spoken about it? I just want to have the money ready the minute they go on sale. Like Bdp I don't mind paying full price to help with the R&D costs. Any shop that's willing to help push this platform forward, I'm willing to pay a little more for their parts. I'm thinking this is my winter upgrade over doing methanol.

Do both. Maybe the IC first. And I don't see a price either. I emailed Gearhead and havent received a response, although its only been a couple days.
The IC will be a nice way to keep everything cooler and make some more power but its not adding octane like Meth. Do both. And with their powers combined theyre Captain ..Plane...SHO 😆

Earlier this year he thought $650 but now he is saying less than $800... so some where in there is what I guess..
The first batch is for a 100 of them. 50 of which he is selling directly through GH and the other 50 will be sold to distributors....
So don't be surprised if a few of the Ecoboost big name shops all of a sudden start selling IC's...
I think EPP already announced he will be offering them as well..

Even if it's a PITA you'll gain 30-40hp on a hot day easy...
Apparently it's not hard... there are two ways... one involved following the correct procedures and draining the coolant...
The other is removing the bumper support but doesn't require draining the coolant... but you need to break a couple spot welds.

Who do we know in the area that has a lift in his garage, and a police interceptor, and auxiliary fans for cooling? Y'all should have a meetup there and make a party out of it! Hmmmm ... LOL.
FWIW the install looks pretty straight forward on the F150 platform!
Side note I guess my patience is thinning unless I hit the 11's prior to this being released! Z ;)

You have to pull the radiator out to put it in. Unless you want to drill a couple spot clamps/welds on the front bash bar. (IMO best way, but the poll i made for the installation video method nobody wanted to do that) The whole two piece system thing is a mega PITA because it wraps around the radiator and is wedged between the radiator and the ac condenser radiator.

I get it. If is it easily able to be bolted back together...that is a no brainer. I don't want to deal with coolant all over the floor and all that trash. No bueno. I have to do a coolant flush soon, and I will not be doing it. I will make Ford do it....lol.

Anxiously awaiting any updates to see if i can get into a batch by spring 19'. Does anyone know if this is still the best place to find out new info?
FB (SHO Owners Club) is currently the place to get the most uptodate info, other than directly from Gearhead. You will have to register for the FB group as it is now a "closed" group.
I'm unfortunately not optimistic as the New Year is fast approaching as this reminds me of the long anticipated reveal of the HPFP which was finally and readily available in the summer of 2017 IIRC! I hope I'm wrong on this. Z

As soon as he receives the shipment of 40 they will be in stock and ready for shipping is all I got. Should be sooooooon
Thought I'd share this with you as I just found out and had been contacted by him to produce the video for installation.
Matt Robinson: Good News... Intercoolers will be here Friday and start shipping Monday. If you want one here are the instructions:
Email sales@ghtuning.com with subject line " SHO Intercooler Order" Include your full name and billing address (we will only ship to billing address). Include your contact number as well.
With the order, you have the option of getting a free tuning update if you already have one of our calibrations, purchasing an SCT tuning device and getting a free calibration with it, or getting a $50 discount off the tune if you are running someone else's SCT tuning (we only support the livewire TS or x4 at this time). Please state your tuning intention in the body of the email. We will call you with the total price ($799 plus shipping for the intercooler). Shipping will be somewhere around $75 due to the size and weight (40 LBS).

Maybe 15lbs, but I am assuming the total shipping weight is about 40lbs. Considering the end tanks are now cast aluminum instead of plastic as well as the weight of the box and foam etc i don't doubt it honestly. Should be a good upgrade. I'll have mine coming ASAP so I can get started on the installation. Now I gotta scrounge up some bucks! I got a little ambitious and tried to pay down some debt, but I sure did that at the wrong time LOL

I would buy one just as a keepsake, but that shipping weight is scaring the bejeezuz out of me LOL.
Jeez 40 pounds! What does the stock one weigh?
Maybe 15lbs, but I am assuming the total shipping weight is about 40lbs. Considering the end tanks are now cast aluminum instead of plastic as well as the weight of the box and foam etc i don't doubt it honestly. Should be a good upgrade. I'll have mine coming ASAP so I can get started on the installation. Now I gotta scrounge up some bucks! I got a little ambitious and tried to pay down some debt, but I sure did that at the wrong time LOL
Core is a beast... Only thing that would work in this application was sourced from a European diesel application.... So you are picking up some extra weight, but you are also at almost 3x the fin surface area of stock...

It is intersting that it weighs more but it was more of a joke about adding too much weight going back to the weight reduction humor but well worth the extra weight for sure!
Just got an update from Matt and asked me to post in the forums in regards to the intercoolers.
no one has been contacted yet. We have to do some qc on the shippment before they can ship out. Nobody has been emailed yet.

Oh my...... I was woken to the dogs barking, the door bell ringing just now.
Upon heading to the front door, low and behold, Santa arrived with a late package for me.
A brand spanking new and improved IC from GH!
Beastly she is. Packaged so well that I'm afraid to remove her entirely from its packaging.
I've amassed quite the collection of aftermarket performance parts these last 6mo.'s or so......
Looks like I'll be pestering my mechanic pal for some lift time the Spring.
Exciting somehow downplays my enthusiasm at this newest offering for our platform!
Thanks to Matt and his entire crew over at Gearhead for continuing down that mod path and remaining committed to this product development for over 2yrs now!
Nice to see this having come to fruition!

Vastly different I can assure you..... we tried putting my core on the tanks on that one and it sucked. And the one piece inlet tank made it impossible to install without breaking the tab that holds the air cleaner on.... Also their tanks didn't flow enough to support the increased flow of the core. These factors are why it has been a 3 year project and costs a little more than a stock replacement....

He was saying that the increase CFM was only "20%" of the benefit. The real benefit is that this core does a better job cooling the air. It's performance increase is not about moving more air, it is about keeping the air colder. HEAT has been the 3.5Eco's achillies heal more than airflow.. How many threads havee there been where people are talking about 140-150-160-170* IAT2's? I know my car runs up in the 170's at idle, and 140's moving in summer. That is a direct loss of timing, getting it down sub 100* is pure $$$.

You have not been following this development process over the last 2 years I see. The outlet tank exit went from 290 cfm on their stock replacement tank to a little over 600 cfm on mine. Iat2 maintains 25 degrees over ambient at 18 psi of boost with tis unit. The stock intercooler will heat soak and hit 180 degrees on a 90 degree day at that boost level. At slow speeds the manifold will get hot just because of it being on top of the engine, nothing you can do about that.

Mine should be here today. Won't be installing until the weekend if it is delivered need to get the crew together to film this install. I've seen a couple of them delivered and they look great.

It's so clear to see how inadequite the stock intercooler is...was....its almost like showing what the difference is between no intercooler(stock) and actually having one(upgrade). This is a must have! Awesome!
For those skeptical of this upgrade I just made an installation video with a good buddy of mine. Editing etc now, but for the mean time here are some comparison photos! Absolutely worth it!

Sucker is HEAVY! But with the cast end tanks over plastic and the thickness of the intercooler it really shows how much MORE there is there.
Sigh... want one so dang bad. Can't get it passed the wife committee though :(
This will be huge for towing!!! I am waiting for a couple of install videos before I pull the trigger.
Working on final render for the install video. It's not spoon feeding info but it's got everything you'll need to swap out if you are comfortable with a wrench

If the bumper is your biggest worry, you may not want to tackle this job. The bumper is the easiest part.
I think we should be clear on terminology. Are we removing the bumper COVER or the bumper? Removing the bumper itself is a safety issue. The COVER is easy peasy, but definitely suggest 2 people, underlayments to place the cover on, etc. Not much required.

Have you priced what an upgraded IC runs on other platforms???
And this one being not only custom, but one that's gone through multiple revisions and upgrade(s) from its' initial version from concept at that.....?
I'll guess probably not.
$800 for the part alone is peanuts.
If you're squabbling over that, perhaps you should just sell your SHO now, and save yourself some headaches.

Does this intercooler make meth unnecessary?

Does this intercooler make meth unnecessary?
The intercooler upgrade will increase power. Meth increases power. I have meth, I'll still get more hp and torque from upgrading my intercooler. Without meth you'll get increased hp and torque. If you upgrade your intercooler instead of doing meth injection ....youll enjoy similar performance benefits as meth but they don't equal eachother out. Having both will make more power than going with one or the other only. Less scientific explanation than most lol I'm sure someone can chime in.
Methanol will still retain its' benefit of cleaning the back of the intake valves, and you will need a lot less for that sole purpose. If you have a progressive controller and are tuned for it, you could vary its' contribution to power levels as well in high DA conditions. Benefit to having both. Together, a 1-2 punch IMHO.
Squabbling over the price? No, i realize the time and cost of R&D and happy it is even done for our small close nit group of enthusiasts. Get rid of my SHO is laughable in itself. Not going to hapen took me years to get. I had 90, and a 95 before this 2013, and got the PP for the extra coolers. In my situation i was referring to how long it will take me to save up to get and install the CAC. Not everyone has spendable fun money or a performance part budget. No one has to make fun of and insult those of us that has to research and plan to get either maintenance or power parts....
FYI -There was no harm intended IMO and Let's keep our discussions grounded and straight to the point! TIA. Z
Def no harm no foul. Simply speaking to the tremendous bang for the buck this mod is.
Budgeting is part of everyone's process for things like this. It IS hard to look at things happening, want those things to happen to YOUR vehicle, but have to defer or forgo it completely. Many a time I have been in that boat, and I am sure many others have as well. As they say, food, clothing, housing come first. Paying bills can be a b****.
Quote from: 10bird on January 26, 2019, 01:47:26 PM
Does this intercooler make meth unnecessary?
No. But depends on your goals and use of the car. The intercooler won't add octane. But there are many benefits that you get besides octane. But the cooler temps afforded to you from the upgraded intercooler will give benefits without octane.
This intercooler will help people more than they realize. It's awesome. And I think the cost is reasonable to say the least. This wasn't your run of the mill intercooler development. Most cars have them right upfront in the grill. Ford blessed the SHO with having the intercooler buried.
This is going to help so much when the temps are hot.

Installed mine yesterday... thanks Jordan for the video!
Couple notes...
The fender lining on my SHO didn't have screws connecting to the bumper. It was 7/32 bolts. Yes, not metric... weird, curious if anyone runs into that?
My drain plug was on the passenger side of the radiator.
If you have a PP you need to remove the aux trans cooler to gain EASY access to the passenger side condenser bolt.
You can just remove the 5 plastic screws from the bottom splash guard connecting to the bumper lip. You don't need to remove the bottom lip as depicted in the video.
Don't forget to swap the metal screw clips from the old IC to the new one for the condenser.
I went through 1.5 Gallons of coolant.
IAT at the manifold has greatly been reduced. After sitting it doesn't take long afterwards to clear the hot air out. When driving in 60F temps I have yet to see anything over 100F. It seems to be happy 20F-30F above ambient when cruising and doesn't heat soak (yet in my testing).
Will be interested in comparing logs between last year at the track and this year.
Like I told Matt... the added weight over the front tires might help at the track ;-)
7/32 is about 5.5mm so could be either or. Drain plug is dependant on build date no clue where each cut off is. Matt said his was passenger as well, mine was driver. The aux cooler was definitely an after thought LOL. Nice you got it finished up.
On other news did an o2 sensor today in mine. Had one hitting the crapper.
Just bit the bullet and purchased my intercooler. Going to throw her on the rollers next week to see what she does pre and post IC install. 430 hp and over 510 tq would be pretty damn cool.

7/32 fits like a glove. 5mm was too small and 6mm was too big. Trust me, when everything else on this car is metric I was a little surprised. I actually tried 2 different 5mm sockets just make sure I wasn't going crazy.
I wonder if any late MY 2016+ guys can confirm if theirs is the same. My build date is 11/2016. If not, then I wonder if this car was in an accident.

Yeah, I am pretty excited. It will knock out two birds with one stone. I need the IC for the AZ heat, and I need to swap the coolant and throw in a new T-stat.
I think with the IC, a new E30 tune for said intercooler, and DP's (later) the car will go into the 11's pretty consistently. I like to document changes with dyno and track results. $120 for 3 pulls is a no brainer for the data.

You're definitely doing us all a service by sharing those results as a lot of us have not been to a dyno, including myself. Testing on the track is one thing but alone its just not enough info. I did locate a dyno in NH Id like use. I would prefer to tell someone what the car actually makes versus saying the words (estimated at about......)

1st, I agree with this sentiment.
2nd, I find it just plain funny to read, as so many dispel dyno's, and the info they provide, and instead, bolster datalogging and claim dyno's don't mean poo poo.
I suppose there's an arguement for both perspectives. I just found it ironic.
Refreshing, but ironic.

Just bit the bullet and purchased my intercooler. Going to throw her on the rollers next week to see what she does pre and post IC install. 430 hp and over 510 tq would be pretty damn cool.
I must be waiting for an engraved invitation lol I just want to complete my first year of the new business taxes before I make a move on it. Look forward to your dyno results ....pretty cool youre doing that!

I enjoy chronicling what my SHO does. I want to see what each mod does. I want to document it and have the information. I am actually lucky because I have extreme weather as well. Extreme heat and moderate cold. It is really enlightening to see what just temp and DA can do to a car. Literally everything I have done to my car is in this thread: https://shoforum.com/index.php?threads/couple-of-goals.138235/ I will keep updating the thread step by step until the car leaves my life.
I have the ability to use both the track and the dyno to verify differences and results. To me, the dyno is a tool. It can show a couple of things and give a ball park number of the actual number output. Plus all the information we can get on the datalogs is damn important. The dyno that I use has been pretty close. Mike from EcoPowerParts did alot of his testing on this dyno too. So they are familiar with platform.
The king in IMHO is.....trap speed and weight. I know my car weighs 4560 with me in it and it usually goes 112 miles per hours in the 1/4. It takes 480 hp to move 4560lbs @ 112 mph in a 1/4 mile. Take 20% drive line loss....from 480 hp - 96 hp = 386 hp to the tire.... Math says 386 hp, and the dyno says 391 hp. I would say that is damn close.
Give me a couple of weeks for the install. I leave for World's Strongest Logger Thursday, and get back on Sunday night. Then the Saturday after I have to defend my title as Arizona's Strongest Man on the 16th. Hopefully on Sunday the 17th I can tear her apart and get her back together. We shall see if I can still walk that is...
Finally a nice day to open the SHO up to see how the new IC holds up. I can say that the butt dyno notices a difference during the few pulls I did..
I'll write up a review as I usually do... but temps at the manifold would drop quick and significantly....
Very happy with the latest modification and the data points to real world improvements.
Hats off to GH for this one.

Been doing it a long time. 10 years now. I have been fortunate to able to travel the world and train with some of the best strongman in the world.
That's sick!
That means sexy man pics of you posing in your banana hammock with the SHO.
But only share those with the ladies. We need more attention to the platform so the ladies know that there are hot men piloting these hot cars or ours.
Bwahahahaha.
But in all seriousness, good luck and continued successes with that venture. Lots of intense dedication, discipline, and training involved in that alone.
Surprised it affords you anytime whatsoever to monkey with the car.

Don't be surpised if you get those pictures in your inbox BPD! HAHA.
I wish more good looking ladies would take interest in our land yachts. That would be cool.
Sometimes strongman feels like another job. Between the gym, supplements, time, diet, travel, and just overall body punishment I still actually enjoy it. Working on/maintaining/detailing/thrashing the SHO is actually therapy for me so I make the time. I get up every morning before 4 am, so I have zero excuse not to keep up everything.
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Congratulations on becoming Arizona's Strongest Man and I wish you the best on defending that title!
I like what you said about having zero excuses. The hard truth is that if its truly important to us we'll make time.

You are 100% correct. Excuses are lies. I firmly believe in what Jocko Willink preaches. Discipline Equals Freedom. The more discipline you are, the more freedom you have. Hold yourself accountable and get after it.
I usually post everyday on my IG with some form of motivation for myself and others. Check it out. Instagram @therealamericasstrongestchef

yeah, if I can walk on the 17th I will get after installing my IC.
Did some more datalogging... super impressed with this IC!
Has anyone stuffed one of these in an MKS yet?

For real... I want to see if it makes a bigger difference, or a smaller difference. I can't help but feel like the MKS grill is just massively inferior than the SHO grill in terms of letting air flow through the intercooler. The split wings means it's blocked right smack in the middle :(
Finally somewhere I can chime in! I fit the Gearhead intercooler into my 13 MKS and just picked it up today.
Long story short, another driver hit me. Insurance covered whole front clip, gearhead intercooler released about that time. Collision shop slapped it in for free because they already had the crash bar off. Shitty situation turned around 360 :D
Decided on a clear bra and ceramic coating... so i had to sit for over a month with the intercooler installed and couldn't test it (to let the paint cure).
Have a Livernois tune, and my butt dyno is very happy. Unfortunately because it was such a long wait, I'm full of "this is wild to drive" joy and dont have any quantitative comparisons yet. Turbo whistle is louder sooner, but haven't been anywhere near heat soak conditions.
I have an SCT from a friend who no longer has his car that I'm looking for a way to unmarry, but planning to put a GearHead tune optimized for the intercooler soon.
Was laying down 12.9s in SE MI last September, I should have a test and tune day coming up in the next month or so...

If you don't have the original car to unmarry from, your best bet is to call SCT and pay to have it unlocked. Have you reached out to LMS to see what can be done to optimize the tune for the new intercooler? Another option and last I heard, they were offering up to $200 trade in for the old MyCal towards a new MyCal touch. I believe that'll give you an opportunity to datalog to improve the tune for the intercooler. Otherwise, GearHead is hard to beat and they've been laying down great numbers.
