What is the Explorer Sport 4WD with 3.5L Ecoboost?
Is RWD with 4WD mode like F150 Ecoboost or is it like the SHO power plant?
Like the Flex it's based on the Taurus platform.....transverse and all.
It's a SHO/Flex BUT with a better AWD system from what I've read, the sand mode is supposed to be pretty cool.
the Explorer is also generally considered 'beefier', more robust than the Flex. it weighs more even though its smaller (shorter has less overall cargo room) than the Flex...

Only wish is while in sand mode the transmission would upshift into 6th gear. But yes, it's nice to have. Really does make a difference.
