Just got back from Lebanon valley dragway, met mybigsho there great guy! Did 3 passes on my stock PP SHO E30 tune full weight. First pass was 12.61@ 113.61 2nd pass was 12.59 @ 113.0 and 3rd and best pass was 12.53 @ 112.96 with a 1.85 60ft. Temp was 70 F and DA for last pass was just shy of + 2000 other runs not sure but it was cooler. The car has 2 or 3 tenths in it still with cooler air and better DA. I'll be going for a 12.2 12.3 this year by fall no additional mods.
BIG Thanks to Brad (AJP turbo)

Thanks man, that thunderbird next to my car in the picture was from Vermont said same as you on it Essex junction not sure if you know him
so wish every one would put their DA and temp at the time of the pass. Today I did a 12.51 with 3400 da and 60deg with 91% dew. Temp and DA have soo much to play wtih these cars. So if I have 3300 da at 12..5 and 3800 da and 12.8... 500 da is a lot.
this brings me to how some of you guys are in the 11's but see your at sea level.(or less on you da)

Joys of good air at New England Dragway. You are correct, when I hit the 11.83 the DA was roughly -60/90ft or so in 55-60 temps. My driver mods included empty trunk, rear seats removed, no head rests, 28-30psi in tires, meth topped off, gas tank 93 octane reading 30 miles to empty or less.
At home on the street and always at the track I never have anything in my trunk. At full interior minus the spare tire gone, my best was 12.06 at 115. It's also very important to get as many runs in as possible or what you feel comfortable with, my times have fluctuated by as much as 3\10 in the same day.
I then turned my attention to DA and began watching it ..... When I noticed it dipped below DA I made sure to get to the track, and with my rear seats gone I knew I "should" snag an 11. I became obsessed with chasing it....and so I prepared for it, did my research and executed it better than I anticipated. Other than simply showing up to the track I feel as though I put in 30% more effort with just the simple "extra" things I did. In this case "extra" was really taking away from the car, in turn I gained more. Less is more.
It's got to be slightly more than just going to the track to see what you can do...nothing wrong with that at all. There's always ppl there just seeing what their cars can do...and always ppl there that are really trying to get all they can out of their cars, and their not messing around, they got ice, they got fans, drags or slicks or both, tuners on hand....so it's up to you how invested you are into your track time. The day I hit my best, I wasnt there to play. I was honing in the beast!

Can anyone tell me what the record quarter mile on a stock everything SHO only with tuning?? I'm not talking about a motor blow tune (some may know what I mean) just safe reliable daily driver tuning.

This is amazing man , Brad @AJPTurbo has the news and I'll be chipping away at this quarter mile time with better air and DA! No more mods quite yet! I'm thinking ideal condition good temp good DA good 60 ft we can see 12.20 12.30 at maybe 115!

He lost at least half a second at startup, I can stare at the green light for a bit before the vehicle moves.
Work on your reaction time and you'll be in the 11's.
So this SHO just has a 100 octane tune and downpipes?.. wow!

18SHO is in the video and he doesn't have downpipes. The SHO with tune only and downpipes with a 12.51 is ShoNoff.
The reaction time doesn't affect the time. The time starts when he moved across the line. Reaction time only makes a difference when you're racing someone else. So you could get an 11.5 for instance...but someone who reacted quicker and made it to the end of the track with a 11.9 would be considered the winner even though they were not as fast as you.

Reaction time doesn't effect time, I was only doing time trials. I took that extra half second to get the RPM right where I wanted it and put my foot through the floor . I am factory stock mechanically. No downpipes not even a cold air intake. All I have is a E30 tune that's dialed in 110% i drive the car daily with this tune and even drive this car in the horrible winters here in NY snow ice salt it sees it all!
802sho is right I do have downpipes but other then that I'm basically stock. I run stock air box too. I ran the 12.51 on an unleashed 100 tune. I'm currently tuned by ajp and we are just starting to work on dialing in my 93 and 100 tunes. I fully expect more mph and et with his tune. Great runs by you guys though. I wish I could of made it out. I love LVD great track and it's not ridiculously far for me. We should all meet up at either NED or LVD sometime. Would be a blast.

Track I used to race at (not with the SHO) didn't allow for that, so even for practice runs you had to be good at your reaction time. Good to know.

Never heard of that, the pre stage and stage beams until they're tripped time doesn't start. Interesting to hear they would do that when your cars still dead stopped at start line
That is very weird for sure. I know I lose a good tenth deep staging my car. Deep staging is turning off the pre stage lights. Had to do this cause bye runs for next round went off best reaction time of previous round. What's weird, my first ever pass in the '13 was a .000.

This is correct how "deep" you stage changes your rollout. So if you stage as shallow as possible. You get more of a "run" at breaking the starting line beams. There for you are already moving when you break the beams. If you stage deep your first movement breaks the beams and starts the clock. It's an old bracket racer trick to deep stage and shallow stage.

100 percent.. When am TNT i go as shallow as i can thats why i get 1.74 60's.. When i am bracket racing after qualifying go deeper for reaction time and getting to the stripe first.. You have to adjust your time for it..
Yep, I shallow stage as well.
I just go by feel...it if feels good I go for it.....wait lol
I might learn how to shallow stage this year. Doing well being a noob though

I will teach you kemosabe. Very very simple to do. Really I pre stage and I roll into stage as slow as possible. As soon as I see the staged light flicker I know one more inch and I'm in. At the speeds of our cars you are talking most likely only .01-.02 tops in et. And I'm not even sure it's that much. I believe a top fuel dragster is only effected by less then .05 at their speeds of 330mph.

Y'all just made me realize I've been staging pretty deep. Just did a bit of reading on it and I really need to get on that shallow staging as it may help my et...
Not to bark up my own tree. But I've won a few NHRA Wally's in my day. Was also division 1 NHRA champion. Drag racing knowledge I've got you covered buddy.

At the speeds of our cars you are talking most likely only .03-.05 tops in et. And I'm not even sure it's that much.

100% Jordan. I believe if memory serves me correct it takes 1 foot of rollout for your tire to break the beam. That's if you are staged shallow. Deep I believe you can get that down to roughly 6 inches. So again shallow will basically give you a running start. God I'm giving out all my drag racing secrets now ;). I can really teach you guys how to fool your competitors eyes bracket racing too. But that could be a different thread lol.

Fooling bracket racers is easy. Get out on them and pull the e brake right at 1200 feet. HEHE.

Can anyone tell me what the record quarter mile on a stock everything SHO only with tuning?? I'm not talking about a motor blow tune (some may know what I mean) just safe reliable daily driver tuning.
The best I have seen stock everything is like 12.56 @108 by SM105K on E30
I ran a 12.433 e30 tune AJP turbo. And a k&n drop in filter, this pic is stock/93 tune/e30 tune

Just installed H&r springs a month ago, hoping to cut that time a little lower in August when I go to the track. That 12.433 is on 14psi also. More boost isn't always better.
