Title: Equalizing exhaust lengths.
Post by: SilvererSHO on October 20, 2017, 06:49:30 PM
Has anyone considered adding length to the exhaust pipe for the rear cylinder bank so the rear bank and the front bank are the exact same length from the turbo to the exhaust tip?  On ours you'd have to preferably do it before it reaches the resonator where they both combine I would think.  Has anyone heard of doing this to a similar car where the two exhaust pipes are not the same length?  It seems to me that this may improve the sound of our Ecoboost motors.  Unlike ours, some V-6's actually sound good.  I know on the older straight sixes the exhaust manifold location where the exhaust came out makes a difference in sound.  Some came out the rear, some came out between the #5 and # 6 cylinder, some came out the middle etc. etc.  Just a thought....
