Title: BMC- XSport Build thread
Post by: bigmoneycloser on May 13, 2014, 08:02:50 PM
Well JimiJak inspired me create a build thread to show the progression of my XSport..
Mine won't be as creative...lol

Here is where it all started Stock.. 401A with dual DVDs adapt cruise and BLISS

First mod and at the time, "the only mod I wanted".... Ha was 24inch helo's
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/de7ebamy.jpg)

Second mod was matte black wrapped door handles and 35% front tint and HID headlights and Fog lights and weather tech digital floor mats with interior LED conversion.

Third mod was custom painted emblems and wheel inserts.
Matte pearl grey

And then I found this damn place and LMS.... Ouch...
Next mods were LMS XSport tune package including
Tuner, airaid CAI, new plugs, TStat and 3Bar map for when new tune was released
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/asazu4e2.jpg)

Next I hooked up a set of H&R lowering springs
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/u6eduraq.jpg)

At this point I realized I wanted to go fast and these 24's were not cutting it..
Next mods were a set of brand new 22x10.5 Vossen CVT's custom painted matte graphite and performance pedals set in black ano with grid pattern and countersink..
http://youtu.be/sFbNSLlGgjM

After this my obsession only gets worse as I pulled the trigger on first wilwood big brake kit for XSport
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/eda9u6e2.jpg)

Next mod was the shark fin antenna overlay
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/arape8as.jpg)

Next mods were the long awaited LMS CatBack exhaust and the custom USB port in driver side pillar for nexus 7 and Ram mount running torque pro.
http://youtu.be/L793YP3zTtk

Next mods were the billet badge(not installed) and Rx catch can(not installed)

Next I found myself with a set of LMS catted downpipes and the new V3 93 performance tune with 3Bar Map.
http://youtu.be/ipEOREkEqTg
http://youtu.be/IzLlk3vg9Xo
http://youtu.be/6Hv5QA6mwTk

Next on the list will be getting installed before Memorial Day
A set of summer tires- BF Goodrich 285/35/22, and EBC yellow stuff brake pads
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/14/ga8upyde.jpg)

What's next you ask?????
Custom detail with all the fixings and a photo shoot....
Well.... There are a few custom projects on my mind..
One will be started and finished before Memorial Day and I'm keeping that a surprise.
Along with another one I am still considering for later on...

This is my story...lol it has been an expensive journey but fun as hell..

I will continue to add to this timeline...lol

It was a late night so it didn't get calibrated tonight.(just basic operation now)
Should have pics/vids of the aired out and up stance...once everything is set right. Hopefully a few days...

Hey Anthony,

Where are you gettin your headlights done (and where are those pics from)?

I've had my new projectors/ballasts/bulbs for like 6 months, but still tryin to workout my design details for other lighting within the casing (LEDs/DRLs/etc). I was thinking I would install it all myself, but now I'm not so sure... could be complicated.

p.s. i wish i never found this thread. you're beating me to the punch on just about everything I want to do to my Ex haha. good work.

I'm getting the lights done by chandler at "www.thelightingfirm.co"
Not a com.. It's "co"
Pics are of my mock up at his shop.
I got the info from fordman with the blackout fusion..
He is a good guy and uses top quality parts.
This site whole site and members are bad influences on me and my lack of self control. Haha
Hopefully pics today before they ship.

Should have lights mid next week and installed ASAP. With detailed pics.
I have new brake pads in the truck as well, so I'm still breaking them in and can't really step into truck yet. But so far ride is very nice. It is much softer ride, more comparable to stock feel at all air levels. Because we were the first to bag the truck there are NO aftermarket shocks/struts available with the system so we modified stock struts.(not fun) if Megan releases the coil overs, that will likely be a great improvement up front as it will give me even more travel and better feel.
So really hoping that happens now.  I have not noticed any negatives yet, but we will see as it gets tested. I think having the extra height in the snow and when traveling will be nice... So at this point I'm happy..
Thx

Hey Anthony,

When you were runnin springs (Flex or Ex?) w/ the 22x10.5" Vossens, did you ever tow anything?

I'm lookin to lower w/ the H&R Flex springs, and whether I change out for the 10.5" or add 1"-1.5" spacers to my 22x9" Vossens.... I'm concerned about rubbing with towing any kind of load.

Thanks brotha.

I was running the explorer springs from hr.
But I never towed anything.
Closest thing, was truck full with 6 adults for 400 mile trip.. No rubbing but hardly same as towing... Lol

Depends on the size of the adults haha. I'll be sittin up a bit higher with the Flex springs (only by 0.4" tho). Guess there's only one way to find out!

22x9" Vossens for sale! ;.)

Sorry BMC.. I just put in a quote for the 3.5L billet badge the same color scheme as you have.. I couldn't help it you picked the best color scheme for a black car. But for $200  they are expensive and most likely never see another one in person ! Now i need to strip off/ rearrange my stock badges

No problem...
The badge won't sit on your trunk or hatch flat because there is a curve on the truck and cars.
So save yourself some time.....
Figure out where you want it, us a piece of cardboard and cut out the curve of the location.
Yah mail it to billet badges.
They will put the bend in it before paint...
I had to send mine back to have bent and repainted..

Good luck

Lots cool things happening in next week...
Tomorrow running some dyno hits with my new MDesign intake.. And next Tuesday the truck is being fitted and fabbed up for a one off set of all in one double bello air struts!
Tired of waiting in Megan, so I'll make my own set up.
These will give me 7 inches of adjustable front travel.
Can't wait. I will have pics and vids when done..

Just got an update from the shop.
All things looking good final fitment and welding in am and then paint before end of day.
Install and set up Friday morning.
New set up should give me extra 2 inches of travel at top and a much smoother ride.
Can't wait to see it.
