Title: First track outing with the SHO.
Post by: Slow15SHO on September 22, 2019, 11:52:39 AM
My buddy and I took our SHO's to the track yesterday. The weather was a bit hotter than I'd hoped for and DA was around 3300ft. We ran almost identical bests. My car is on the right.

Dang that's a close race!  Love races like that!  Nice run and great time imho for that DA and no meth or e30 tune!

Thanks. I was happy with that time with the DA we were dealing with. I've got an e30 tune I'm hoping to try out next month.

With those numbers I thought you were already on E30!

I'm not sure what DA was the very first time I went to the track.  It's was hot and humid.  Around this area high DA is about 2500-2800 ft.  I ran a couple 12.6 a 12.5 and my last run a 12.3.  But like I said for 3300 DA on 93...a 12.6?  I'd be very pleased with that.

Yeah I'm very happy with the times for having minimal mods and on 93. SHO in the other lane has the same setup except a j2 intake instead of the Afe. We were both impressed with the times

Congrats! Nice run.

Interesting in the similar times and. Mph.
So the two intakes are very similar in hp gain with current mods? I wonder at what point the j2 would overtake or if the other limiting factors keep intake mods from being worth much.

I'm sure with the GH IC the J2 intake would be the clear winner.  I'm in the 80% WGDC on 19 psi with the GH turbos.  When I upgrade to the EPP intake I'll be down into the 70% WGDC range.  I like that.  My Airaid intake bottlenecks air flow for sure.

I'm kind of curious myself. I'm planning on adding the GH IC in the spring but I'm not sure if he is going that far with mods. I'd like to see if it's worth switching to the EPP intake at some point.

The J2 or EPP will lower WGDC I believe by about 8%.  When you add the new IC it makes the turbos have to work a little harder bc of the increase in volume so they WGDC increases.  So to its credit...bc it decreases WGDC it clearly flows more air, more efficiently than the bottleneck stock plastic parts.  I'm interested in the new Intake for the increase in air flow, decrease in WGDC and so I can spray each turbo with something(no2) through the new Intake since it feeds each turbo separately.  I hear you can really hear it....i like more noise so thats also a plus imo.
