Dumb question (still new to all this), with this mod are cat backs needed? Or world I use this with stock exhaust?
I believe the third cat has to be removed. But other than that, stock exhaust is fine.
I wouldn't think so. If I go the cut-out route I plan to run stock exhaust.

Any updates on this cutout...availability, pricing, etc?
I'm still in Canada I'll check back when I get home

Sounds good, and I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas! (-:
Any current state updates on this?
Thanks
First one is built, need to get a car in to install and test however shop is backlogged right now due to other cars. Should be another 2 weeks and then we can schedule for some dynos. :)
OK! What's involved Mike.... I'm excited!
PM, email, or text details as you have them of the process, fitment anticipated, time, $$, and the physical install... location in the car's exhaust, controls, valves, etc. .....email might be good to see pics of the current model.
Understand you're real busy on the fueling project, work has me busy too... bet we can work something out that fits both our schedules... if it took longer than 2 weeks that's OK.
Nothing yet until Jeremy get's his garage cleared out.
Install is SUPER EASY as far as bolting it in.
You need to order one of these though - no options are required, if you want the solenoid you can purchase it from them for the control scenario.

OK... Just got off the phone to Reid at Sound Performance Racing.... But need to know 3 things.... to order... and a couple for my info
1) Y-pipe stainles weld-on or valve only
2) No flanges... 1 weld-on stainless (where?) or 2
3) can we use the solenoid and Hobbs switch? ... since they list it as starting to open at 5psi boost I'd like to be able to disable opening from my console... likely in where the autopark switch is)
The "for me" stuff here:
Finally... Is it adjustable as far as opening pressures?... starts to open pretty low at 5psi and listed as not fully open until 20PSI boost, ...AND... will the assembled CO flanges be in or behind the DPs?... etc.
TIA
As soon as I get the info (1,2,3 above) I can give Reid my order.
Apologies... reading too fast... PM sent does contain a couple of other questions.... when you can. TIA
Valve and solenoid with Hobbs switch ordered from SP Racing.
I am also curious about adjustability of the opening pressure.....
It's a wastegate actuator, if you want to adjust the opening pressure higher just use a simple ball bearing MBC to make it happen. It can't open sooner though. :)
The only way to get it to open sooner is to see if SPracing can do a lower pressure WGA spring.

Sooner is not what I'm looking for... but to have it start opening about 9-10PSI so that it's not open when just cruising...
To be clear, are you talking about what i've seen called a "manual boost controller" usually used on waste gate valves... basically a valve put in the boost line containing a spring compressing a ceramic ball bearing for the valve seal with a manually screwed down spring tensioner?
Yup, the valve is just a wastegate actuator from a turbo, works the same.
Any updates?
We're now ready for testing, just sent an email to Tom to see if he can let us use his car.
Just need him to come by on a Saturday and drop it for the day.
Once we test and verify fitment etc I will have pricing.
Sweet, my down pipes are lonely...

Any updates ?
I have told Tom the price for him just waiting for him to come down

Does this replace the third cat? Just thinking ahead to my options when emissions testing comes into play. Would these guys pass emissions with just the third cat or are the other two necessary as well? Thanks!
It replaced third cat but never heard of third cat removal causing fail before
Keep the cats on the downpipe that's the key from my understanding

3rd cat delete has no effect on readiness check. I deleted my 3rd cat and barely notice it
I guess my question is if I remove the cats on the downpipes and only have the third cat on for emissions testing, would I pass?

No.
I'm ready to test fit and release but need a car to test fit it on.... :(
I've given Tom pricing on it.

Just FYI guys they are definitely going to be around $900 + the $400 for the cutout and $115 for solenoid and Hobbs switch (to allow you to turn off the cutout if you want)
Are you all still interested?

Are you going to have the solenoid on the site or do I need to order elsewhere?
I'll be able to carry everything at my site for you guys.
I'm selling two(2) SPT boost activated cutout valves for 400 plus shipping, one with an unused ypipe flange and hardware. I only used them for 1/2 a season last year in good working order. I also have a Airaid filter with filter cover in great condition and a tuner from LMS. PM me for info.

What exactly will these parts replace? For instance, I have PPE DP's and a Corsa exhaust, yet to be installed. If I were to get the cutout, would I still be able to use these parts?

Or just like most upgrdaes for these cars, a lot of ideas and promises of more new parts that never come to fruition.

Actually, this part exists last I heard Mike was waiting on test cars to make sure its good so he can send mine back.
He was also looking into an avenue to make it a bit cheaper as well.

Yea he sourced a more cost effective boost activated cut out that should turn into a nice discount for you guys, looks promising. As far as any other parts, I should be taking pre-orders for the intake in the next week or so.
Sorry guys ALL of my time the last month + outside of my day job has been to do paperwork for the new building, setup all of the items and then start doing this:
We still have to finalize the dyno install, get power installed, paint, new walls and then build out the manufacturing areas.
After that I have a volunteer to come down to finalize the cutout, I could have done it earlier but then wouldn't have been able to make any so it would have been useless.
Give me 30-60 more days and I'll get the business up and running and we can get Jacob in or Tom or whoever locally to finish the fitment and then be able to make them in quantity.
I'll probably set up a pre-order scenario once we have costs figured of 5 at a time and make them in batches.
I apologize for the delay but the work that is going on will allow for a ton more parts to be made, all in house. I also have to review the possibility of new parts, intercoolers etc and how feasible they are for production - prototyping costs vs possible sales.
