Vehicles for Sale / 2012 SHO PP
Last post by SilvererSHO - September 01, 2023, 06:26:39 PM
Just gauging interest for now.  2012 SHO PP in my avatar.  136,000 miles.  Water pump and all plungers, guides, timing chains done @ 91,000.  New transmission installed @ 114,000 and is still under warranty.  Gearhead 91 octane tune with SCT Livewire.  3 bar map sensor, colder thermostat, colder plugs.  Runs good and everything works.  Has Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires with about 10,000 miles left on them.  Mirrors and all black plastic was painted body color when I bought the car @ 41,000 miles.  Oil changed every 5,000 miles and PTU serviced every other oil change.  Very well taken care of car.

were supposed to received one of these units for a 3.7 project but never did. months of delays, supply shortages (china), etc. so ended up using a ford oem ptu. have heard of issues with the seals tho.

Anyone else seen this video before and/or purchased one? Could not find another topic about it here.

The video is 1 year old but I have never heard about it before.

Thanks for the input guys. I did some reading around and even though both a 315/35/20 and 275/40/20 are the exact same overall diameter, I'm not sure if I should chance running different sizes for fear of breaking something with the awd unit. Especially if I'm gonna be running the truck hard off the line from time to time. Btw here's what I'm planning on getting...

I never had any issues with the AWD unit running my set up.  Actually went 12.14 in my flex with that set up and consistent 12.20's without having any issues.  ran that set up for a couple years.  Just cant rotate the tires, so keep that in mind.

I know this is an old post but i ran the staggered setup for 2 years with zero issue, then moved up to 20x10 +40  on the front as well to run 315s on the front. they dont stick out or rub

Just a quick update.....

Went and visited the shop yesterday (07/21/2023) and was glad to see that the motor and transmission are at least back in the engine bay.

Still a LOT left to accomplish, but progress is progress.

Builder said there's a bunch of little things that are missing like brackets, bolts and what not. Which was to be expected given the now deceased former mechanic who removed the engine, developed into an alcoholic and drank himself to death (God rest his soul).

So he's got all the miscellaneous stuff on order from Ford to replace the missing items.

But the builder appears relieved it's just little stuff.

It was nice to see the look of enthusiasm return to the builder's face, replacing what was once a look of genuine worry/concern etc. given all the unknowns previously.

Maybe from here on out, things will go smoother/quicker.

Hope everyone's well.

Maintenance, Oil, and Fluids / LH (Driver Side) Halfshaft Rem...
Last post by DaveBey - July 29, 2023, 09:54:27 PM
Does anyone have any tips for removing the LH (driver side) halfshaft? Is the special tool, 205-832, really required? Is there a lower-cost alternative?

Thank you in advance.
