Title: Key FOB replacements
Post by: lamrith on December 14, 2020, 12:02:49 PM
One of our fobs is toast.  kills battery and just not functioning otherwise.  Have to put it in the console to start/drive the car.  We tried an Ebay refurb and it was crap.

Looking on Rockauto they have a Dorman fod that comes with a module to program the key to the car?  Has anyone tried this setup?  I do have forscan on laptop, so I can get in and program that way if needed, since I have two functioning keys I could put in the console during programming.  Just curious if anyone has used these.  Interested in feedback on both the module and the FOB itself, if they are any good..

For $95 that's worth giving it a shot for a back up key IMHO. Worst case is it doesn't work and you can return it. I know its several hundred dollars at Ford for a replacement key.
