Title: S&B Intake
Post by: scap99 on May 12, 2014, 11:47:01 AM
Just ordered mine last night.

Will post pics and review, later.

Ordered from Mike B., 10 seconds after hitting the pay button, he's texting me to verify which filter I wanted.  How awesome is that!?

Ok, these pics prove I am not a photog.....

Install is fairly straight forward.
Difficulty = Half a beer

Hardest part was getting my head wrapped around the idea of pulling the bottom half up and out from the fender with the radiator expansion tank attached.

Everything else is intuitive, but the full color install instructions are top quality if needed.

CAI freshly released on Valentines Day by S&B Filters for the 3.5L ecoboost in F150. True CAI, uses stock airbox, replaces stock snorkel with a larger one. Oiled filter. Larger smoother tube. I love this, and I know the turbos do too

Should be very similar intake temps compared to stock.
Lower pressure drop should help spool time and increase intake noise.

The drive in to work was uneventful.  Intake functioned as it should.  Turbos did feel like they were building boost a bit quicker.  Nothing mind blowing, but felt a little "looser."

Hey scapp , I noticed in your sig that you are doing an E30 blend.
Does MPT support blending with there tunes or are you monitoring FRP , KR and stuff on  your own .
I was doing an E85 blend with Torrie at Unleashed in my 13 SHO .
FoMoCoSHO is big on blending here as well .

scap, if you're running the OBDMX adapter, you should try out the OBDLink software. It polls the ECM much faster than Torque.

Just one of my million reasons to dislike Paypal.

I've always had concerns about vendors who ONLY take Paypal and will not take a major Credit Card.  Credit Cards are much easier to dispute with, as a customer.  Especially for us "International Orders".

Luckily for me, Mike B does takes Visa ... and all my purchases, Mike's been great.

Agreed on the lack of PIDS. I need to reach out to those guys about that. I am curious about no difference in speed however. On my setup and on Mike's embedded vids the difference in speed is shocking, especially with trims, timing, and lambda.

Thanks for the input, looks like I have some investigating to do.

I'm not sure you need to be nervous, the data between the two is similar.

What is different, at least with my setups, is that for any two consecutive data points in torque, there may be 10 more in between using OBDLink...if that makes any sense.
