Title: 2014 PI Wheel Hub Question
Post by: klrsmith on April 29, 2018, 07:32:00 AM
Good Morning.

I'm going to replace the wheel hubs on my 2014 Ecoboost PI - I can move three of four of them at both the 9&3 and 12&6 o'clock positions when I jack up the car and have an annoying whooshing sound when I drive.  I've got just over 100k on it now.

Can anyone tell me what size socket I need for the Axle Nut?  From what I could find online, this could be one of several sizes, but I believe it to be a 32mm - is that correct and is it the same for both front and rear?

Awesome, thanks Z!

Do you think  it makes sense to pickup a couple of those thrust washers and take care of that TSB while I'm in there - though I don't have that ting/clicking issue.

FYI - The part number Z gave is very hard to find right now.  None of the online sights have them and my local dealer said none of the warhouses had them in stock.

He was however able to do some digging and said there is a new replacement number for them.
F2GZ-7G273-A

I just ordered a pair of the new number and will advise when they arrive in a few days.  It they look the same and install well I will put a post in the TSB thread.

I used BB5Z-7G273-B
on my 2010 when I installed H&R springs. Worked beautifully, mine were all metal though no plastic.

Wheel hub torque should be the same as 2010 too, 258 ft lbs.

Someone please correct if I'm wrong.

It seems like a washer Frenzy in the works. Lol.  :D

It appears that the previous part number has been Discontinued and replaced by Part number - 7G273.  Z

Picked up the new washers today.  These are all steel, no plastic/Teflon or anything.  Just stamped steel.

Install planned for the weekend.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180502/4fbd4e08d8a16ad9af4352916c146f97.jpg)
