Title: SP cutout
Post by: GhostRider8 on March 29, 2015, 11:36:49 AM
Hey everyone,
I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering a boost activated cutout. This has to be one of neatest mods to add to a "sleeper" build. I'm assuming I can antisipate the same gains as a cat back exhaust? I will still be using the stock y-pipe for now.

I'm planning to only order the solenoid and purchasing a y-pipe through summit as they have one with great reviews for only like $25 that I can bolt the boost solenoid to.  The attached picture is what I'm looking to buy. I'm a little confused how to only purchase that anyone done something simalar? I'm sure I can call SP and figure it out.

Give EcoPowerParts (Mike) a call.  He will know all about this stuff.  If it's anything like the SHO/Flex, the cutout will add at least as much power as the downpipes.  Mind you, all downpipes are not created equal, but should be close if mandrel bent etc.

Well upon researching a little further I might just go with a electric cut out, I didn't realize the price was for the entire unit I though it was all priced separately. I'm not spending $400 for just the boost activation.

I will do my research before purchasing anything down pipe wise, I do have life time tunes through 5 star assuming I purchase through them or stage3

I'm sending the cutout back to you next week and I should have 5 sets of cutout pipes with cutouts available in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Pricing will be $1050 complete for the entire fixture with boost activated cutout.

Thank you for the info, I saw your cutout post those are very nice looking pieces! A bit pricy for my current budget but very nice for sure!
