Title: World record before XV1?
Post by: steve142857 on October 19, 2013, 08:27:33 PM
Hey guys!
Since XV1 is taking forever and season is reaching to an end... I have opted to pray for good conditions and I believe it is tomorrow or never: Expected 48F with sun... Could be a bit humid because it just rained and it is suppose to rain until 4am, but tailwind of 20mph with gust of of 35mph!!!
My best so far was 12.12 at 115mph with this 2013 and I had a 12.09 at 117 mph with the blue 2010.
Since it is in the weekend, there is a good chance that they will prep the track well with glue, so with my experience (more than 400 passes in more than 35 different occasions), tomorrow could have the planets aligned for a new world record...
For sure with just a bit more boost, it would translate into 11's, but let's hope that this conservative tune has enough to lower the current world record...
Wish me good luck!

Until you egt that power to the ground, I believe in my chances... And if ever I don't get the 11's tomorrow... When I will receive the XV1 from Livernois, I might just drive 10 hours to go to a drag strip that will be opened and get that 11's that i have been wishing since lat year! lol

But I will be more than happy honestly if you beat me to it... As long I get it too! lol

Cheers!

Cool 4DR Mike! You still have 12 hours to get it working... I'm heading to the track with one goal in mind... It really looks good for conditions. In the past three years, it is THE day for drag racing.
And I have traction...
I am pretty excited actually.
The car is clean, the meth tank is full, 1/4 tank of 94 octane in... I may even ride with the two children's car seat in the back lol!
I'll bring my two gopros.
I'm ready!
Oh yeah!

Yongest girl just woke me up coughing...
Gave her some water and honey... Went back to bed.
It just stopped raining.
I went on dragtimes to watch DA. Hmmm, barometric pressure really not good and for sure, humidity level very high.
So DA is currently 47... far from -1000/-1500 when I got my records.
Hopefully it can improve, but I now doubt it more.
Only the wind can play a wild card now...
Who knows?
11's, would be a miracle. 12.0's would be incredible, but possible. Most likely around 12.2, maybe 12.1's a run with a gust.
Even the projected winds went down...
Oh well... I got excited at least! Lol

Well Steve if you ran 12.0 in a car that 500lbs lighter and at DA that's 6400 ft less than my 12.4 you know who's actually faster since you love math. :)

You guys are going to make me drive to the next Livernois customer appreciation day so I can be at the same track at the same time. Next year when I move to TN don't be surprised if I buy a thermostat from them and show up. :)

Mike,

Didn't you buy a MyCal from them?

If not... I have a better idea... I have purchased from them so let me take your car and drive it!!!!! LOL

What does aa 12.0 with a 6400 DA adjust to at a negative 1,500 DA?

Also... I am starting rumors that "L" has purchased a Fusion, dropped in a EB 3.5, re-badged it and claiming it is the new Ford SHO -ala 2015!

Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines
11.922 @ 116.211 MPH

I need to remove all my seats and have somebody that weighs 120lbs drive it, that would be another .5 or so...

Add plexiglass side windows and a plywood rear tailgate*!  Remove all exhaust behind cutout...

*add flames decal... weighs less than paint!

So... Finally...
Barometric pressure offsetted all other good factors, so DA was finally around -50.
Tailwind of about 15-20mph, weather around 50-52.
Got there at 10 for the opening... They opened only at 11am. DA went from -239 to -59... hmmm
Then, they put a lot of glue, went for a run and had my worst 60ft since I own this car with a 1.82 (instead of 1.73-1.75), still managed a 12.24.
I waited 30 minutes and went back, ran 12.20 and 12.24. I noticed that with glue, 60 ft are good, but gear shift from 1-2 suffers from too much traction and instead of chirping, it kinda slow down during the shift...
I needed to leave at 12h30 because my wife had classes to attend to.
So I went back at 12h15 and 12h25 and managed 12.16 and 12.14!... Then I needed to go : (
With all same factors, but barometric pressure more favorable, DA could have been -1500 and I would have been really close to 11's!
Well, still had a good time.
I only got one run in video against a 2010 Charger SRT8 with exhaust and intake (no other mod) and he ran 13.40.
I later ran a Jeep SRT8 with exhaust and he ran a 13.04... I filmed 22 seconds of us in the lineup and the battery died... : (
Anyways, it was a good time and maybe I'll be able to go one more time before season ends here.
Then I'll get XV1 sometime between now and 2015 (lol) and will surely be in the 11's.

BTW 4DR, I know your Flex is more powerful and will be faster. I have one advantage that I need to appreciate: a fast track and cool weather... That is worth some hp too.

Cheers!

Maybe another time!

Too bad you didn't get it Steve.  I know how it feels.  I'm just that close to a 12.  The time will come!  Hopefully sooner than later.

I haven't done anything yet, last time at the track 5030lbs with the back right seat out. We only had it out in case we needed to get to the fuel pump quickly and diagnose any issues.

Steve sorry to hear you didn't hit the 11's (not really... :P )

I think we need an exorcism of some sort to get into the 11's.  Maybe throw a fit before a trial run???

Try short shifting it in the higher gears like we talked about Stevo.  You would have had it...  :)

Hey guys!!! I went to the strip last night and broke into the 11's with my Flex.....

Then I woke up...LOL

If I was at Steve's strip with my G8... I would have been in the 11's by now for sure.  Turned a 12.07 when DA was 600+!

Goodness, I wish we had those kinds of DA down here, this weekend was close to perfect and the DA was still 1400.  Usually we're at least in the 2000's.  I ran a best of 8.35 yesterday and made it to semi finals.  I was killing the tree, I had a 0.001, 0.009, 0.055 and a 0.037.

Wow! Amazing RT... I mostly do Test n tune, so I shallow stage, making it harder for RT, but I am not too bad between 0.021 and 0.179. I average 0.10 normally.
Low DA is one of the only advantage. That means cold weather and that means that my pool is already closed (actually I can open my pool in June and have to close it in September!). I need to shuffle snow 4 months per year. Etc.
Oh! one other advantage of cold weather is that our bugs are smaller (they all die during winter!) lol...
Here in the summer it reaches over 100F and in the winter it goes to -30F!!!
So, beside DA, you guys can't complain with your nice and hot weather... ; )

Yeah I shallow stage too for best times.  Yeah i'm not complaining because we can pretty much golf and race year 'round!
