Title: Part numbers needed for rocker panel retainers...
Post by: 6500rpm on June 28, 2021, 08:55:59 PM

A while back there was a thread about color matching the grey rocker panel, door trim panels, bumper extension parts and I'm fairly sure shodded or bpd1151 posted the part numbers for the plastic retainers that hold the panels in place. For the life of me I can't find the thread and the dealer is only showing them as part of the complete panel(s).

Mike (bpd) color matched his, I recently hit a log and destroyed my chin spoiler but was able to fiberglass it back, gave it several coats of Rustolium truck bed liner to keep the rock chips down, and top coated it with SEM trim black. I want to do the rest of the lower panels to match but I want to have extra retainers on hand as they tend to break on removal.

If anyone knows the thread I'm referring to, knows p/n's for the retainers, or where to find them please throw me a bone. I've got a free week coming and like to knock this out.

Thanks in advance

I did have mine done. Albeit several years ago.

I do recall the body shop I used at that time, saying those clips were considered "one time use".

I haven't had a need to use any body related services in quite some time, so I am not sure if there's info in my thread on them.

If there were, Manu (SHOdded) most likely had posted it.

Thanks Mike, put the chin spoiler back on yesterday, probably pull the trim this week. The exposed retainers on the rocker covers are probably reusable, the others are questionable at this point until I get the trim panels off. Haven't made up my mind on the rear bumper extension, it's  riveted to the bumper cover so it's  either remove the cover and drill out the rivits, or mask off and paint.

had posted #s for the engine splash shield, not the rocker cover(s).

Thanks Shodded, I  actually need a pan retainer too. That lower cover probably save me from a lot of damage. I  posted this over on the SHO forum also.

Alright, I was able to remove the door and rocker panel moldings intact, got things painted and back on.
As for all (4) door moldings, it looks like they use p/n W715201-S300 and one really strange metal small pin style.
Bottom of the rocker panels look like these-W716350-S300.
The upper retainers on the rocker trim are unlike anything I can find listed on line, but considering my cars daily driven and 8 years old, with a little patience I was able to get all released intact.
