Quote from: Larrylu on April 04, 2014, 07:10:12 PMI have a vague recollection of seeing something similar in one of the forums a quite a while ago. I can't remember exactly what it turned out to be but I'm sure it was found to something relatively minor like a faulty valve cover gasket. It got fixed quickly by the dealer so keep your fingers crossed!
Quote06-14-2013, 10:08 PMHey Guys, I wanted to share something with you guys. So last night I decided to pull off the plastic cover on the engine as I wanted to pull one of the plugs to see what shape they were in. I noticed a small amount of oil below the center coil on the front of the engine. I didn't think much of it as there was not much there. I pulled the coil and plug from the 1'st plug on the right and it looked decent. A tad rich but okay, I wasn't going to pull any others as the 1st one looked good. For whatever reason I decided to pull the middle one, man did I get a surprise. The plug tunnel was full of oil right to the top and the seal between the valve cover and the tunnel fell out?? Please see pic below. My only guess is that is was not seated properly at the factory. Due to the second seal on the coil it kept it from getting all over the engine. I can't imagine that having the plug submerged under oil for all that time is a good thing. I guess it's also a god thing that oil doesn't conduct electricity very well. You may want to have a look at yours just in case. I had to use a combo of paper towel and a pipette to get the oil out of there. Not fun. Also have a look at the plug, It does seem to have some carbon buildup. Let me know what you guys think.
