Title: Time for new mufflers
Post by: lamrith on March 16, 2021, 02:51:59 PM
Well my mufflers are finally telling me it is time.  I bought a used set of Dynmax #35902 slip on mufflers about 30000mi ago.  I love them, nice balance of increased volume while providing a deep non ricey tone.

However like some I have seen on the ole FB lately, they have suddenly puked their guts out.  I walked by the car lastnight and noticed the dreaded nappy weave trailing out of the drivers side exhaust.
:censored2:

Has anyone ever opened a set of them up and pulled all the fiberglass out? Any other options out there for axle back that sound good for a daily, the Dynmax are not overly expensive, but nice to hear options.

Mine just puked out their guts a few weeks ago.  Now they are raspy as hell and sound like crap (with off-road DP's)!  I plan to replace the entire cat-back with the cheap OBX on ePay since the other brands are ridiculously over-priced.

I am looking into Varex/X-Force. It has an electric cut out built into the muffler. Straight through when open, flows through the muffler 3 times when closed to keep sound down. They even offer one where the motor is inside the housing of the muffler so it is very hidden.
