Running E30 first time

So I loaded my E30 tune for the first time today and filled up with E30. My local e85 station was testing at E80 so I loaded up about 5.5 gal to the rest 93 octane. I was at about quarter tank at fill up. How long did it take your cars to hit the fuel rail with the e30 ? I drove around had to be 30 mins with maybe a total of 15 miles maybe less. The car felt sluggish like it seemed less peppy then the 93 octane tune was. I held off from romping it. Is this a symptom of the fuel rail not getting the e30 blend yet or does it take a certain amount of time for all fueling to adjust accordingly?

I have switched a bunch from 93 to E30 to E85 to E30 etc. I use E30 now predominantly as its easy to mix quickly. I have a 2015 SHO non PP.

In the future for fuel calcs try Wallace racing. Easy to figure out. Google E85 Blend Calculator. Browser not an app. I am usually at E35ish as the tune will handle it according to AJP. Just dont read the lines. Put in what you have and it will work.

I usually do a KAM reset and then let it learn for days. I dont know how these guys tune then track then retune. My transmission burp from 1st to 2nd was learning related so it seems.

So to answer your question. Its not the fuel in the rail imho. Its the car learning the tune ?

The E30 tune should be heads and tails better than the 93. Night and day butt dyno feel. Especially 60 to 120.

You need to go and an make a couple logs for Brad.  He will adjust the tune, and it will come alive and you will say WTF!

Even if it feels like it's bogging right now ? I havnt heard back from him yet and I definately don't want to risk going full throttle yet . Driven about 40 miles maybe on the tank so far

I have an ethanol sensor and it typically has settled after filling up around 5-10km or so.

Yeah if it is a first revision it will be a soft tune to see what is happening with the car.  He will ask for a third gear pull from 20 mph up to the top of 3rd gear with the shifter in "S". Then he will ask for a 1st - 3rd gear pull with traction off, from a stand still with the shifter in "S".  If you can, I would have those logs ready.

Stock/OEM tunes will handle up to E18 or so without need for tuning.  If you did not load an E30 tune right after you filled up, that might be why the SHO seems to be bogging.

If you DO have an E30 tune on, you could try a KAM reset by pulling the neg batt cable for 40+ minutes to force the PCM to relearn.  Shouldn't normally have to do that, but can happen.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

The logging part I knew cause I had to for his 93 octane tune , just wanted to make sure from everyone's experience if what I'm experiencing bog from gas not mixing fully or just a simple soft tune. Didn't want to go full wood until this was clear.  Thanks man

Mine was soft as well, and then we got through a couple of revisions and she was riding!  Worth the time and effort for unlock the power of E30.

I also always add the E product in first then put the regular fuel on top of it in the tank.  It helps mix the fuel.

Bottom line is it doesn't take long to mix and make it up the fuel rails. Maybe a few minutes. Been running E30 as well.
