Title: Catch Can installed and dealer warranty
Post by: jbrown9999 on October 04, 2017, 11:50:11 PM
Has anyone had a Catch Can installed on an under warranty SHO and went in for dealer maintenance?

If you did, what reaction did you get?

The Dealer actually suggested getting an OCC.  Z

Depending on the type/manufacturer of the occ they probably won't even notice.

Which catch can installs the easiest or is the most recommended for the SHO?

Upr is probably the easiest, the jury is still out on which one is the most effective.
I'm currently running the RX OCC with great results, but the install is definitely more involved.

i was very conscious of where i put my can to keep it discrete on dealer visits. i've had it in 3 times for service and never a word about it.  full details here

Ok, my UPR catch can is installed.  For those who have this catch can, has anyone installed a valve in the bottom to make it easier to drain during maintenance?  I'd really like to install a valve and a tube running down near oil drain so I can just have it going in the catch for the waste oil.

i used this valve from a rv store and mounted it in this location. pretty slick and i can reach down and drain it with the car on the ground.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171228/c88856d714a834d3167fffbd34d55f65.jpg)

not sure where exactly you mounted your can but i'm sure you could do something similar.

Well, mine is mounted higher but I could just use a longer hose.  The best part is, the house allows you to visually see how full it is.
