OK guys I worked it out with my supplier that I can get special pricing if I do 10 sets of pipes - mixed quantities of catted/off road pipes is fine so here we go:
$750.00 on catted pipes - Updated 1/28/2015 $820 shipped to make it easier for everyone
$560.00 on off road pipes - Updated 1/28/2015 $615 shipped to make it easier for everyone
I can do the same pricing for the Explorer sport but those also have to be in 10 sets (different jig).
I can't do mixed quantities of Explorer/SHO-Flex pipes to come up with the 10 order unfortunately.
If you are interested please reply here and I will add you name to this first post to keep track.
These are the lowest prices I've ever been able to offer on downpipes so take advantage!
Ceramic coating add $175.00 to the price.

I'm in
I'm on fence between cats and sans cats. I don't have emissions. I'm hesitant to go catless with the smoke guys have reported and gas smell.
What are others doing?
Also, how do these DPs offer better performance than the stock mid pipes?

Either way you get incredible low end increased performance. I think the gas smell is only persistent with third cat delete. No gas or foul odor noted on my SHO with either type during development.
Offroad
Depending on when the order will be placed, I'd like to be in for a set of Off-road.
A nice trip to the ER on Jan 1st set me back a couple hundred bucks.... my "off road down pipe fund" one could say. SOOOOO I hate to hope it'll take a little longer to get people signed up... but i'm kind of hoping. haha.
I'll have a Corsa CB installed, so 3rd cat gone. I'm just skeptical on the performance increase with stock mids and DP's with cats.

I'll have a Corsa CB installed, so 3rd cat gone. I'm just skeptical on the performance increase with stock mids and DP's with cats.
I made 550whp catted pipes stock exhaust, 600 with cutout open.
Cut to the chase... Without being tuned, PPE downpipes added 12 WHP catted and 17 WHP noncatted on the dyno using my car (same day did 3 pulls catted, 3 pulls non-catted, and 3 pulls catted ceramic coated). Without a tune they shifted the power curve downward about 500 rpm due to earlier turbo spooling. The increase in available TQ and WHP at the low end made a remarkable difference to my butt dyno while driving. This was further enhanced with having the car tuned and my tune modified for the DPs which both Unleashed and LME can do easily for anyone.
I did not replace any other exhaust components. OEM DPs are very convoluted and the bends all have pinches rather than just a smooth curve and are multiple pieces. PPE pipes have high flow cats (or no cats), fewer and very smooth curves, are one piece without joints, and maintain consistent roundness and diameter. (No flattened places like OEMS). They also have a shorter flex pipe at to end which joins to the third cat or your AM pipes.... This is why I believe they increase flow... And that the OEM exhaust from there back, including the third cat, can handle more flow than the stock DPs allow.
I know the latter is speculation, but the dyno and improved sound is not.
Hope this helps.... BTW... Here's pics of stock and PPE DPs... You can see why flow is increased.... And which do you want on your car?

This was an easy decision for me.
I am in on this. About how long are we looking before these will ship?
You guys need to list what type of pipes you want please :)
I won't take payment until I get 10 orders, once that happens, they will ship within 2-3 weeks.
Wow! That's a pretty outstanding price point. :clap2:
If orders can wait till like mid February, I'll be in for a set of off-road pipes
-Nick
I'm interested. I'll have to see how next month goes for sure.
I know more of you than this want done down pipes.
For those of you considering getting DP and especially if you have an exhaust setup already, personally you wont regret one bit by adding the DP,the only thing you will realize is what exactly you have been missing out on,personally i was in the same position, ordered my Corsa cat back in 1/14 and two weeks later ordered the DP cause the sound and performance was just not there with only the Exhaust setup, know with the complete setup not only will you notice better performanceand better sound, your going to love hearing those turbos spool everyday, and for me personally felt like i was driving a new car.just my 2cent.
I too need to wait until end of February. But I would take the catted version!
So what's the official count up to now?
2 for now, 2 for mid/late Feb.
:)
Getting there...
Well we need 10 sets to get to that pricing so we're 6 away :)

I think with the added ceramic coating you might see overall slightly lower temp's on the DP,and also might be a little longer process with the ceramic coating but surely worth the wait, best of luck and enjoy.
Three reasons for ceramic coating
1. Looks great and protects pipes
2. Ever so slightly help spool up of turbo
3. Reduced heat transfer to engine bay, trans, and ptu

I would be in for catted dps mid to late February. Prefer not to have a code thrown with catless.
I see some get ceramic coated..is this an extra cost to get done?

I coated mine... love it... figure another $175-$200... Understand that, regardless of theories, only aesthetic benefit has been proven so far (including my car comparing catted, catless, and catted ceramic coated in BTB dynos same day, 3 pulls each set). personally, I'd do it again and also had my PPE hotpipes ceramic coated.
Ok great..thanks for the info bigmac. They sure do look good on yours.
I need to change mine to catted! Also, any updates on this group buy?
Need one more person to finalize this and then we'll need to agree on a date for the orders.
Im gonna go with catted and no coating.
I'm sorry guys.. I have to back out. The sho is giving me trouble and I might be sending her to "the farm".

I might have to back out, trying to get new tires this weekend... Sorry everyone!!
So whats the deal with this discount..any new info
I need 10 people to finalize the group buy.
Mike
throw me down as 100% committed.
How many people are committed to this now? I'd be 100% committed for a set of catted if I don't have to wait too long (I'm kinda impatient) lol
I've asked to see if I can go ahead with 8 instead of 10.
I'll let you guys know as soon as I do.
Ok I got approved, but will be 3 to 4 week lead time. If that works for you pm me your email address so I can send an invoice for 50% deposit
This is great news..thanks for making this happen.
Is the 50 % the deposit to hold your sale?
When will we be billed for the rest?

I had to put 50% down when we order the 8 or he won't start. Once the pipes are ready for shipment I'll send an invoice for the balance.
PM'ed you....I have another who wants in on the deal.
Rich
Sent you my email, Mike.
Just in time for spring!!!
Trying to send you my email through taptalk but it closes. Ill shoot you a pm soon on the desktoo
I'm going to make it a TON easier, I'll make a link to do the 50% down payment on my store and post a link here in a couple of hours once I'm off work. :)

ok done deal
Just a reminder guys, these catted pipes pass all emissions readiness checks. You put them on your stock vehicle with no tune and you will not throw a code, PERIOD.
Thats def one of the reasons i went with those..cant wait to put em on
OK guys I have 3 deposits, let's get the other 5 placed so that I can submit the order to PPE please.
In the process right now.
Rich
Make that 4 of 8
Rich
5 of 8 paid!
Thanks guys
I'm in the 5 of 8 crowd!!!!
Almost there! :)
Lets get this moving
How's this looking so far?
Rich
No more paid sitting at 5
have you messaged the people who haven't paid yet? If not, could you? (okay, maybe I'm just a little to excited for these... haha)
If these other guys are in for sure but need to end of month (think that was the agreed upon date) to pay, I could pay in full to help get them started.
Rich
Sorry guys running a big tourney, I'll message everyone on Monday
What happens if the others dont pay when the month ends?
Do those who pay in full get the dps
I'd have to ask ppe if they would accept that few or I'd have to refund

Hey, sorry guys, I had to drop out, I ended up getting new tires for my Mustang so I can try to get some TSB's done to the SHO
Any new info?
Nope, nobody responded to the PM's I sent.
OK updated the list, as of right now it doesn't look like we're going to hit the mark. If that's the case then I can continue but the catless pipes will be $665 shipped and catted $830 shipped or I can do refunds.
You guys let me know what you want to do.
I'll have to go with the refund :'(
I'll hold over the weekend but if we don't finish it out then I'll refund on Monday.
Cmon people....answer those PM'S
Posted this on the "ecoboosted" page in hopes to get a couple more involved...no luck I see

Use the link on the first page to get in, you're not in until I receive the deposit.
Today will be the absolute last day I'll take any deposits and your pipes will not ship on the 27th with everyone else's.
Ok doing it now
I'm paid in full thank you

Rich
IT'S ALMOST THE 27TH!!!!!
I haven't posted on the board in quite some time...Is the group buy still open?
Group buy is closed but you can purchase via my web page whenever you are ready.
FYI guys, update today from Paul the orders will ship between the 27th and the 31st for this first set of orders. I'll update more as I know more, your best indication your order is ready is an email requesting final payment for shipment. :)
I still have to make my second payment, is that still open on your website?
It is, if you guys want to go ahead and make the second payment between now and Friday that would be awesome.
Thanks!
Mike
PAID 2nd HALF!
Thanks! :)

I was just looking at these. For the minimal cost, why not I'm saying. I know if I didn't, I'd probably have anxiety over not doing it.
Rich
I would replace the gaskets, cheap insurance.
Unless of course you wouldn't mind having to install downpipes twice....

Mike I just lowered the price of the catted F150 pipes $100 on the site, order up!
Will do soon as I get home. Thanks
I'm confused.
$820 on this group buy for Down Pipes w/ Cats.
Or
$760 + $50 UPS shipping on the ecopowerparts.com website.
I just looked at the shipping costs, the box size was wrong, updated.
I wondered why I wasn't really making any money previously on the catted pipes.
Thanks for heads up!
It's not a ton of savings on the catted pipes unfortunately I keep them super low already so you guys that need to pass emissions can. :)
How much is the savings on the group buy?
Off road pipes are normally $650 + shipping
OK guys I have 1 set uncatted pipes available, one of the guys backed out.
$615 shipped, shoot me a PM so I can send you an invoice.

Fantastic
Rich
I received my DP's a couple weeks ago. Wondering if I am the only one outta money and waiting to install lol?
Also, talking to LMS, my 4+ tune was modified. Seemingly it didn't need or have to be modified but LMS took the cautious approach. So will test with existing tune first. Although, I already updated tuner so can't ref lash a new copy of it Then will try new tune. Hopefully it will pull front wheels off the ground now!!!!
Good luck, Dxlnt1!

I really think I have a small exaust leak at the flex pipe area right now too. Low idle and after a little rev I can hear a slight flutter. Glad it looks to be on the side that the downpipes will be replacing. Should have these pipes on by Tuesday.
This leak is something I pointed out after the accident, but I'm so done dealing with body shops....they seem to be a complete crap shoot and I'm now fixing the little imperfections myself.

Yup mine are sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. I do have some time tomorrow but don't have new gaskets. Guess it will have to wait
I used the stock gaskets without any issues.
How many miles with stock gaskets? I have 16k
I am at 32k total so far and counting.
Its not like your changing the oil and filter and later realize the gasket on the filter is leaking, this is relatively a pain in the ***to do,as this being my second set of DP which was easier the second time around which took about 90 min, would order new gaskets to ensure any potential leaks from arising in the near future considering the exhaust levels to be around 500 degrees.Z
So it just took me 4 hours to take both oem dps off. Lot of cursing and pb blaster.
Time for a beer break and back at it again. Will let you know how it comes along
Hope it goes on easy for you, s1krr!
I should have took some pics of the install what i ran into. The install took about 2 hrs, once i had it all figured out it was pretty straightforward. I had to add a washer to the bolts for the new dps.
Took a quick ride around the block and you do hear the turbo whistle more. When at idle it sounds pretty much like from factory.
I have noticed when getting on gas you do feel the throttle response more.
Ill chime in when i have more miles
