Look at the TBN on conventional SN certified Pennzoil.  TBN is one way to cover a weaker base stock as well.  So if it is combined with a strong base stock like PAO or Ester, you can end up with an exceptional product.  Though nothing is invincible :D

Also keep in mind as things progress, oils are moving to less detergent and less anti-wear additives.  Amsoil is no exception.  Probably to accommodate upcoming SN PLUS requirements, but more to address the widening reach of GDI and boosted applications.  Less is more etc w regards to LSPI.
