Aftermarket Trans Cooler?

I saw the threads to add the PP cooler to a non-PP car.  The PP cooler seems a bit expensive (by the time you buy all the lines) to me.  Just curious why I can't find any threads of someone simply splicing an aftermarket cooler into the lines going to the top of the AC condenser/cooler?  Summit sells complete kits for about $40.

The OEM aux tranny cooler from FMC, found on the PP and Police Interceptor pkg's isn't really priced that high.

I'd question the integrity, validity and durability of a purported $40 kit, as well as questioning why one would want to risk it on their $40k plus techno sled personally.

But hey, to each their own I suppose.

Simply splice in the new aux cooler.  It would be a great all around install to also buy the appropriate lines but its not necessary to install and have it work accordingly.  The "How to" for aux cooler with adaptive cruise control thread explains exactly how to do it without buying any OEM lines from the PP.

Bought my PP trans cooler for $50 from a salvage yard off of car-parts.com
There's always a ton of Police sedans in wrecker yards so they're easy to get for cheap and for having an oem style fit/bolt on upgrade it's really a no brainer. You just need the cooler . . not the lines
