I just purchased a CPO 2014 SHO from Las Vegas Nevada with 64K  as I could not find one anywhere in Ca. worth a darn. I sold My 15 Mustang Gt due to needing to haul my high school kids around needing the seat space. I see now there can be some Issues with needing a catch can and maybe having PTU problems. I appreciate all you sharing your experience as I will share you mine.

thanks

I would not say they need a catch can. The factory setup actually uses a oil separator in the PCV system(oil catch can). You should use a high quality synthetic oil because they have great NOACK numbers which is what keeps oil from vaporizing.

Yes the PTU can be problematic so I recommend getting yourself on a fluid change regimen of about 20-30k. You want a full synthetic there as well. I would get that fluid changed and run it a few thousand miles then change again then do it every 20-30k

It only holds like .5-.75 qt

White is THE FASTEST so to that end, nice choice!

AJP's suggestions are spot on. Enjoy the new whip.

AJP is spot on. I have a UPR catch can and it does still catch quite a bit of crap.  It is piece of mind for me.  Do you know if your car is Performance Pack SHO?  Does it have a Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, and missing a spare tire in the trunk?  Those are the tell tale signs you do.

Yes it has the sport pak!, Thanks for the info I was not sure if ford improved the pvc system in 2014 or not, I will replace the oil with Synthetic in the engine and PTU, It looks to have been done in the engine anyway due to having the CPO check from Ford dealer.

Did they replace the PTU fluid or just check it.  I personally would get the fluid removed and replaced with Redline Light Weight ShockProof Fluid.  The PTU in the PP is water cooled, however the jury is still out if that actually decreases failures. I have replaced the fluid twice in mine in 18k miles.  I replaced the original fluid at 60k with Mobile 1 gear oil, and then at 68.5K with the Redline Fluid.  I also put it in my RDU (Rear Dif Unit) as well. Feels like my car glides now.

Consider doing a coolant flush. Trans as well and swap out them plugs too.

Check suspension if it's factory as some have reported failures.

Also, if you're planning on tuning, you'd be best served to swap out your front wide band 02 sensors as well.

Check over clamps and hoses all along the turbo piping too.

Welcome aboard the E.B.P.F Mattman! I think starting with the 2015MY has an updated PCV System which incorporates a CKCP Crankcase pressure sensor which limits the amount of crankcase vapors to be inducted into the engine IIRC! It is a descent improvement compared to the earlier builds with the exception of the 2010MY which as a heated PCV. Best of luck.  Z
