I contacted MAP performance sometime ago about the possibly of making a performance intercooler for he SHO. This is their 1st response:
Hey Joseph,

At this time we do not offer anything for that platform but I have absolutely no issue bringing up the idea to my manufacturing department and seeing what they have to say! If you could get a post together or some sort of doc that has a list of people that would actually buy something like that, it would definitely hold more weight in that office than just my words. Let me know what you can get together and we can go from there!

This is their 2nd response:
Hey Joe,

I just wanted to let you know that I brought up your platform in a new products meeting. Hopefully in the near future they will take the SHO into consideration for new parts to be manufactured from us. I think what could be most beneficial is if you can have all of your boys show some interest in the form of an email request or even some comments on social media so you can gain traction by showing lots of interest.

I would think it would be important to embrace the vendor who recently released the new and improved, upgraded IC, that has quantifiable proven results, and took 3yrs to develop, refine, etc. before necessarily reaching out to an entirely new vendor (who sounds only mildly interested) in doing so.

Yes???

Sooo....

We already have a badass intercooler that was almost 3 years in development. Gearhead worked hard to get their intercooler to the market and it has PROVEN results. Results I can personally vouch for with the extensive datalogging I have done.  The amount of engineering that Matt Robinson at Gearhead put into their product is nothing short of amazing.

Additionally the price is VERY reasonable at $800.

We should be supporting Gearhead in their efforts, and I know they have other improvements in the works.

Curious why now, after all the development Gearhead put into their IC for our platform, some one would be reaching out to a different vendor?

This is the problem with being first on the scene.  The copycats are always in the wings, waiting.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Youch.....i reached out to them long before i heard anything about the GH intercooler. It took that long I guess to get a response. It is always good to get as many vendors for our cars as possible. Tha being said I am working on getting the GH intercooler for my car soon. I did not think it was a bad thing, and like I said I have reached out to several companies in the last year for various parts and this was the first to actually even respond back. They also make headers etc. Sorry for trying...

Not a bad thing to ask around at all.  Just frustrating when a vendor that supplies a real working product gets undercut, you know?  And as mentioned, the timing may be coincidental or it may not.  Who knows what triggers what.

1.  Without major hacking of the crash bumper, a front mount doesnt just fit on these cars.  Anything hand-fabricated would likely be front mount.
2.  The airflow into the cooling stack is all wrong for a front mount and is not efficient if you did make one fit.
3. These tiny turbos are very sensitive to intercooler volume.  The GH cooler is on the edge of what the system can handle volume-wise.

Options are always nice, but you will be hard pressed to find an easier, better performing setup than the GH drop-in unit.
