It seems like the cat is finally out of the bag and the 2.3 Ecoboost is now an official motor coming out of Ford Motor Company.
I would imagine that by the time this motor is announced in the Mustang that it will be tweaked to be closer to 300/320.
Supposedly, the 2015 Mustang's will see the 2.3L 4Cyl Turbo under it's hood, but it will be tuned to 310bhp.
FMC is strongly considering placing the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost motor into the Mustang's, but that likely won't occur until 2017. Also, FMC plans on tuning them to 400bhp from the factory.
This 3.5L Eco will be the "transition" motor, between the 2.3L 4cyl noted above, and the "Coyote".
I heard FMC will also be offering a "Trinity" version of their Shelby GT500, mated with a supercharged 5.8L V8 pumping out 662bhp from the factory.
Kind of cool to hear/see what's on the horizon. Both for the ECOBOOST platform, as well as the Non-Eco line up(s).
