I can tell you I've made roughly 100 passes on my sho this year. The more I ran the car the more I learned it really liked lower rpm launches. I found the sweet spot for me to be around 1800-1900rpm. Any higher I wheel hop and transmission shudder my way to the 60 foot clock. Or it just falls flat on its face.

Z, BamSHO recommended dropping the launch RPM down to 1800 last time he looked at my slips... I did and dropped my sixty foot to a 1.80...

I also aired down to 20psi up front.

Thats sure getting down and dirty @ 20 psi!    I know Brian(Bamsho) likes to keep them on the low side as well! This was my first outing with the fairly new Dunlops extreme sports summer tires which stick like glue! Thanks for the input. Z

Just gotta find the right traction RPM to launch at. Really depends on what kind of prep you got going for ya. One strip I was launching at 2200 next I was launching at 2000, both with similar times produced, but fairly different 60 foots. I think it's more heavily tire dependent! Also how much timing you have on launches.

These small turbos spool up so fast it's more about the boost ramp.... Brad brings the boost hard and fast on the low end. I couldn't just drop the hammer with his tune.. I had to ease into it.

Ive tried it both ways and the majority of the time is 1800 or so.  Overall my 60fts have been a little slow I think.  Average is probably a 1.83.  My best runs I'm usually about 1.80 and some change.  Ive had 3 1.7 60fts.  Best at a 1.74.  Then I said screw it with the 1800 launch and went for 2000-2200 but having brake issues holding it.  Car edges up sometimes and throws me off.  So I dont have enough experience I feel to be convinced one way or the other or maybe even the same exact routine yields different results all the time depending on track prep, temp, DA and tire pressure.  Its almost like we have to try all our tricks every single trip to the track bc each one can be effective when the last time it wasn't. 

Lol!  Anyway I want to elminate the tire traction issue off the list with some dedicated DR's.  Can save 3 pounds or more each tire also which = faster also

802Sho I think a lot of our 60 foot time problems were the fact that it was 35 out the last night we ran. My old 32x16slicks would of had trouble hooking up

I trust your experience in the matter and that was the worst day for traction by far....in my beginner experience

It looks like the track season is over based on today's weather but knowing it has the potential to break the 11's barrier is good enough even with a Trap speed of almost 116 mph!!!

I must admit it was Fun and a True pleasure to have friends and enthusiasts like Manu (SHOdded) by your side to say the least....
