Sync issues

I have the Sony "12" speaker audio system with sync. I pretty much use the sync for the voice controls and bluetooth features. I listen to my music through my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth audio. When I shut the car off whether listening to the radio or my iPhone, the next time I start the car the audio system plays the radio. Not a huge problem. The problem is my iPhone will automatically start playing music, but I won't here it until I push the auxiliary audio button or use voice command "Bluetooth audio."  This is annoying to me because i don't always remember to pause the music on my iPhone if I decide to keep the radio on.  I have played with the media settings and set auto play to on and off and get the same results for both. Anyone else have this issue? I did play with going directly through the USB port to play my music, but it won't let you control the music through the phone. I like using the phone as oppose to attempting to find a playlist using a non touch screen head unit. And I already know a 7" Kenwood Excelon head unit is the way to go, but I sold my old one and decided that the stock audio system is good enough to focus what little expendable money I have on making my SHO faster.

As always, GRAZIE!

This problem went away when I updated to the latest version las spring. Are you running the updated version? Before the update It would occasionally default to my USB device, now it defaults to last devise that was used when I turned the car off.

I personally have not done any updates. How do I go about updating it?  I have found little to no info on updating it and when I go on the Ford Sync website, it says it's not compatible with Firefox web browser. I have a Mac.

There is a check for updates link on the Sync home page, if your car is registered, and the update was downloaded, applied and confirmed with Sync, you will get a "Your Sync is up to date!" message.

My sync is up to date. It said last time it was updated was when the car was built. No more updates in 4 years since then?  I'm starting to wonder if that's how it's supposed to be. Anyone else have this issue?

UPDATE:

I called Ford directly. What I learned is that some updates can be done by the customers and others need to be done by the dealer. I found it hard to believe that Ford hadn't had any software updates for my SHO in 4 years, and I was correct. I am running version 3.1 I was told to have the dealer update to 3.1.4 This should resolve my issues.

On a side note, the gentleman I spoke with from Ford was EXTREMELY polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. I took the survey at the end of the call to give my praise.

That's what I should do, when the first update that you pay for came out, I contacted both Ford and the software people and neither one has ever gotten back to me....and that was like 1 1/2 years ago!
