Why so wide? You'll 10" wide rims to fit them.

245/45/20 is stock size. Found pirellis snows in this size also found many on discount tire site, but the site seems to be having issues. You can go down on side wall sized and you probably can go plus or minus 10 on the width also.

lol got out of there my phone was under 20 percent battery so no flash cant see anything. but basically what happened was we had a big dump of snow then everything melted a little bit the next day then today it just snowed like crazy and now theres like big hard packed snow but just soft enough for the big fat tires to sink in. i think the width really works agaisnt me.

225/60/18 Michelin X ice 3 for me. Same diameter as stock 20's.  Highly recommended after driving 2000 miles on them.  Quieter than my 20" Michelin all seasons.

Here are some pics.

I picked up a separate set of rims and tires from Tire Rack.  I went with some clearance rims, and a reasonably priced snow tire.

The size and type was the 235/60R17 Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT.
This is the first set of winter/snow tires I have had but the difference is amazing.  Another bonus is that when these are shot, the new tires are around $115 apiece.

Plus I can stick to a decent 20" Summer tire for a reasonable price and not have to go with an All Season.

The whole setup shipped was about $1200.

Roger that - I run Blizzaks in that size ('12 SHO w/pp) and they are spectacular in snow/ice, get new rims its SO much easier than remounting them every year, and cheaper.
