Early on fords configurator site.

https://www.autoblog.com/amp/2018/08/07/2019-ford-ranger-configurator/

It has since been taken down.

"The configurator went up early. Pricing isn't finalized, though Ford says both pricing and the full configurator will go up next week. Ford also says there will be no regular cab available for the 2019 Ranger"

No, it's 24k for a quarter ton truck.  It's 42k for a Fully loaded mega fru fru ever feature in the world truck.  That can pull, haul, and do truck stuff just as much as the 24k truck can.

My XLT F-150 was less than 40k out the door.  It is loaded with the features I wanted, not features I didn't need.  It does everything a truck needs to do just as well as the 65k platinum version.

The truck/suv/cuv market is stupidly overpriced right now.

Very rarely does anyone ever purchase the bottom of the line, no options whatsoever models.

I wouldn't purposely purchase in today's market. Nope. No thank you.

Very rarely

Is that more or less rare? Lol

I don't think they are overpriced...you actually get a lot of vehicle...I work with quite a few people that drive platinum and Denali trucks and I honestly believe Cadillac's and bmw 550i don't have anything the trucks don't

I just can't believe that there is such a demand and people are willing to pay 1000 a month for an uber luxury truck that may or may not haul more than a washing machine or a couch

I agree with BPD they are very overpriced.  This summer I bought my first brand new truck.  It's a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 that was a hold over, it was a great deal for me as the dealership was trying to get those 17's off the lot with very good incentives/cash back.  Its just a work truck, nothing fancy.  Reg cab, 8ft bed, 4x4 and V6.  I wanted the V6 btw after driving around all over with my old Chevy V8...give me that V6 gas mileage.  Not hauling any big loads, definitely not racing so I wanted the V6!

Very disappointed that it doesn't even have power windows.  C'mon GM!  WTF!?  That should be standard.  Nothing like hand rolling up a window for $33,000.....

My point is even if you do buy a base model truck without all the fancy options and big motors...you still fork out quite a bit for them and they make sure to screw you just for fun ...roll up windows...smh!?

Pulled up opposite my gf as she was leaving for work on passenger side...she rolls down her passenger side to talk...I look at my passenger side window handle...look at her..and shrug.  We laugh....GM has the last laugh....those ##*#*#*!

Yup.

It's laughable how much the price points are.

C'mon..I mean a Ranger? In the 40's? $h!t puhleeze.

F150's in the 60's or more.

God help you if you want a Navigator. Be prepared to fork out at least 80, and option it up with anything and one reaches the century mark quite easily.

It's amazing to me that people are tolerating the market as it stands.

Just left scratching my head.

It's pretty insane. I was truck shopping when I decided to buy the SHO, I couldn't find a used truck with low miles NOT rotted out for under $30k unless I wanted something 10 years old. Anything 2011+ was either outrageous or rotted/high miles.

If I were to replace my current truck with a new equivalent, I'd be spending close to $80,000. That's 2/3 of my freakin mortgage!

The bottom of the line will sell huge. Think parts delivery vehicles and fleet trucks for companies. I know now my company uses a fleet of Nissan frontiers since everyone stopped making small trucks. They are an absolute piece of s***. I'm gald Ford is coming back with the ranger. Nothing like a 2wd 4cyl frontier that gets 16mpg. Perfect for business. Everything is overpriced it's not just trucks. Hell try to buy a car for 30k new. Maybe a middle of the road fusion and you are paying $600 a month over 5 years at 0%. That almost 70% of my house mortgage.

They seriously aren't over priced.  A typical light optioned F150 is in the 35k range.  My dad's 98 5.4 F150 Lariat was 33k new.   Massive power upgrade, WAAAAY better transmissions, better MPG, safer, and way more features still than the 98' could dream of.  In 20 years it's still roughly the same cost.

Options folks, options.....  If people are willing to pay more for something they might use once a year, can't fault Ford for willing to take their money.

As someone mentioned the majority of ranger sales will be fleet.  I was actually holding out for a Ranger Raptor.  But when I saw how much I could get a 1/2 ton truck for brand new I was like screw this...   BUT....I may end up with two trucks in my driveway.  When I sell the SHO in two years It'll be between an SS manual or a Ranger Raptor (Only if it has the 2.7 Eco)

You're comparing a 1/2 ton with a 1/4 ton and 20 years difference.

Exactly!!!! and the prices really haven't changed that much for how much more truck you get.   Everyone wants a 25k truck that tickles their balls and has an infotainment system with more processing power than the space shuttle.  My truck has two "features" I couldn't un order.  The 110v outlet (which I'll likely never use) and the stupid "I can't back up a trailer to save my life" system.

In 2011 the last year of the ranger it was 19k base 2wd and 28-30k loaded. I really don't think the price jump is that high. In 2011 a mustang gt was 30k now they are 38-52k for a 5.0gt.

Ford hasn't made a truck with spark plugs since '95, that is a pretty cute Ranchero though. Albeit a bit expensive.
