P0218 Transmission Over Temp Condition

So taking advice on a trans cooler. The OEM PP/police external style vs the Hayden 679 stacked plate cooler which seems to be larger. Any experience, advice suggestions?

Cool. I had read the first and the third threads you listed. Never saw the second one. Good info. I wonder how hot guys transmissions are running and they may not even know it. I had confidence in the stock setup but when I started having the limp mode and the DTC till I became interested in my trans temp. I'm pretty sure guys with the LVN V11 tune and the condenser/trans cooler ONLY are running higher temps than they assume at least in higher temp areas like myself. Especially if you have a lead foot like me.

Kinda late but this is how I ended up solving my transmission overtemp condition.

Tru-Cool - Max LPD47391 Low Pressure Drop Transmission Oil Cooler.

OEM Trans T-Stat delete.

Equaled a MAX Temp of 170-175° no matter how hard I pushed it even in the 100+ air temps here in SATX. 

Having said that... The OEM aux trans cooler would be much easier to install. Much smaller tho and not quite as effective in my research.
