Ok, this is getting old. REAL BAD grinding noise from drivetrain,,,

Thx SHOdded, hopefully the dealer isn't try to sell him something he doesn't need.
I was aware of the "grunt" tsb but his problem does really match the description. I really hate when dealers just try to throw parts at problems and hope it fixes it.

I agree, and Topher has really been getting hit with that pretty baddly in the last 12mos IMHO.

LOL if it was only a weird noise.. i would have dealt with it later.  it TRULY sounded like the PTU.  I was ready for it...

It was a horrible grinding noise .. :P 

Now I wish it was the damned ptu .. i'm getting the whole brake assembly mess.. to be honest the rotors are pretty rough.  they are oem and have some good grooves in them that i knew would be a issue later.  add to that i'm not good at wrenching and brakes are one of the few things i wont mess with myself. 

i make to many mistakes and my daughter rides in my car for me to mess with brakes .. /nope!/ it sucks.. but again i am hard on cars so this is par for the course.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Loop closed. rotors, pads, calipers and some sort of of a pile of screws washers and crap.  it is fixed.  too bad i cant drive it.. (new thread)
