Need to retune after IC upgrade

Hello.

I upgraded ICs and I'm wondering if there are actually any benefits to retuning after the upgrade.  We are, after all, on an SD platform, so it seems like any changes to airflow and temperature will be accounted for by the ECU anyway.

A return seems like a waste of money.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

IDK if power delivery and trans shifting could be re-optimized.  Certainly, the ECU is seeing everything it needs to, like you said.  And it's not like you have changed fueling, like if you had meth injection installed (cooling + octane).

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

There are a couple of things that could be changed regarding IC volume and transient fueling but I wouldn't worry about it....Hell, there are Meth tunes with no changes to the fueling.

I would say your average email tune wouldn't make changes for an IC upgrade
