I just picked up a 2015 SHO lease return with 30k and still under factory warranty!  I went from a 2003 Audi A6 4.2L (in the pic) to this and I am still on the fence ... The SHO has much more power but the handling is pretty soft and absolutely no feel.  But ... the SHO is much more practical and comfortable for hauling around the family and it looks FANTASTIC!

I'm a car freak from way back when I used to modify and drag race a '91 LX 5.0 notchback.

A trip to Livernois Motorsports is in my very near future!  I'm joining the forum to share my experiences and learn about the best ways to upgrade this beautiful bull!

Congrats!!!!! And welcome! LMS is a good place to start, also check out AJPTurbo who is a fantastic tuner, and of course there is Unleashed as well... best first mod there is... a tune!

I agree, I had a special edition Jetta that had Audi brakes and suspension from the factory... to this day still one of the most fun cars I have driven. Wasn't fast, but could handle extremely well...

The SHO is a boat... BUT for a 4400lbs car it handles well...

Congrats on the purchase and welcome. I had an 2002 Audi A6 4.2 so I certainly understand the switch.

Drop the back a inch and the front half a inch and it greatly changes the handling.... DO NOT skimp on the conversion though or the ride would suffer.  Several members JUST pulled the trigger on some height mods..  Others have done this and have reported crisper handling and less ''wallowing'' in ermmm.. more aggressive navigations.

H&R's are good start. As are the adjustable end links.

Upgrading to coil overs would be the best.

Welcome aboard, and enjoy the SHO. Lord knows you will after a trip to LMS as stated.

They make a butt load of "go fast" parts, and as others have echoed, tuning alone wakes up the animal lurking from within. Ford left A LOT on the table with this 3.5 EB powerplant.

Now, if the community could only convince them, or another vendor who specializes in it..... to build us a  hardened trans we'd be all set to get into those 10's.

I have to add that, before you dismiss the handling based on feel, find a good road and throw the thing around.  You'll be very surprised.

My MKS is even heavier than your ride and I live in the mountains and drive some pretty serious roads on a regular basis.  It is downright shocking what these cars can do if pushed hard enough.  Sport mode, paddle shifters, and throttle become your best friends.  Try going in hot (near the point of understeer) and then feed it throttle.  You'll be surprised.  (Only on a closed road course in Mexico with no children or animals present of course)
