What are you doing for Air Intake,
may i ask
based on reviews here, leaving it oem. It seems that the massive intake mods do not really deliver that much more over stock. I *AM* however pondering plumbing the snorkel and moving the inlet elsewhere away from the block. But that is in its infancy as a idea especially since i will likely screw-up putting the front of the car back together

what got this started was my very last datalog. I ran a best of 4.58 0-60 on pump 92 gas. the IAT2 showed 92f and it ran like a madman. *BUT* it spiked HUGE knock (6 points) on 3rd gear... I was like WTH?
then it hit me.. like AJP mentions elsewhere while IAT2 temps are critical.. the block and cylinder temps are also equally important. I think I ended up with bad knock in gear 3 because the engine temp and cylinder temp were too high to support the spark being commanded by the tables despite super low IAT2 of 100' mid run. (19.5 spark avg for gears 1&2 , e10 pump-92)
Hence now.. ''how to i remove more heat'', not just for the IAT2.. but for the whole block.
I will do the 170' R thermostat. i don't want too because the burping is hilariously tedious.. but i think it will actually help now.
edit wrong spark number..
