It feels like Christmas! Cracking into the box to get the motor mounted up to a stand, then it's off to engine build for tear down.

Have you guys ever experimented with a thermal isolator/insulator gasket between the block intake and the bottom of the intake manifold?   Just curious ..

I think so, looks Ti-VCT to me.
Yeah I also notice the water pump is now outside the timing cover.
Just wasn't sure if this was a newer design with the transverse 3.5

Mounting up the motor from the box to a stand so it can be pushed into our clean, climate controlled engine build rooms for tear down.

Is this a 3.5 F150 motor?

Yes this is a 3.5L from the F150 but it will be going into an off-road racing machine.

No we have not had any experience with that sort of gasket with the 3.5L EcoBoost. We have seen on other applications and generally, if you can keep heat out of the intake, your going to be better off.

Stock motor is in engine build! The tear down process is under way!

Most of the engine covers are off before lunch, the heads will be off soon and over to our Cylinder Head department for cleaning, inspection, and tear down!
