3D printing parts

Just wondering what parts you will like to see made. Needs to be small. Some examples would be like a throttle body spacer, caliper bracket adapters. Stuff like that. just want some ideas.

I was thinking of 3D printing it, testing it out on my own car (2011 SHO) if it fits recreate it in a different program with the right measurements and seeing how much its going to cost to have it made in a CNC machine at my dad's work. This is just a personal project for me to kill time but it can turn into something much more.

Like always I'm lazy as f**k and it will take some time.

Possibly tweeter mounts and woofer sealers?

Tweeter mounts are going to be hard to make but doable. But woofer sealers are going to be big and will need a larger 3D printer

Just got an idea, I'm going to 3D print an airbox for my intake.

And that's not bigger then it takes to seal a 6x9?

Can't wait to see it though.

:o :o :o  So this part exists for real now?

Not yet. Have to print the base and test out the fit. Then I can print it. After adjustments if needed

This is Benchy. He is going under the hood of my car to see if he melts. He is made out of PETG plastic and a lot tougher than ABS.

If this melts I'm going to try nylon.

Cool.  A small test part then?  Where will it go?

Zip tied between the turbo and intake to take on the maximum amount of heat. If it passes I'm going to put it on top of the valve cover.

Mr. Benchy is not showing any signs of warpage. Time to print a 2" pipe and see how it holds with a silicone coupler and a t-bolt clamp, since that would be the only part the could break.   If all goes well time to print the base and then test fit.

I unfortunately have to print it in 4 parts since it will take tool long to print it in 2 pieces. PETG is a b*tch to make it smooth. A lot of sanding will have to be done.

Are you going to print the tubes with curves?  I am curious why not buy some OTC pipping and focus on the hard part,  the box and its mounting placement?

Update. Printed the tube and put all 160 pound of me on top of it. Didn't even crush it. The reason of this test was to   see how hard the pipe was going to be for the t-bolt clamps. Printing the base tomorrow finally for test fit.   Took a lot of test prints trying to get the smoothest finish.

The hardest part is bonding the parts together.  And post processing which includes sanding.

The base piece fits almost perfectly! Just need to adjust the position of the 2 triangle guide pieces then time to start the printing process with the hardest piece, the dual inlet.
