Very interesting day at the track. Temps were very low 50's and super windy. Head wind of 20mph, and track prep wasn't the greatest, Rich Yaklin Jr. knows what I mean. Started out with 93 V8 meth tune, not sure what was up, but didn't run like it should. So after 3 runs I did the big NO NO, I reflashed to the 93 V10 Meth tune. First run, YES running a lot faster, and got into the 12.4s. That was my goal for at Beaver Springs. Then Kris started running the Escape. As you will see, she treed me BAD! So over all, very good day, in spite of the conditions. Tire pressures were at 22psi and one run I squealed the tires thru 1st and 2nd. Think there is more with better conditions at Beaver.

Nice times! I would expect the V10 w/ Meth to get faster once the OAR adds all the spark... not sure if after the reflash on yours if you ECU clears the KAM.. mine does EVERY time.

Best runs of the day for the SHO and wife's Escape.  Our goal is to get the Escape into the 14's

Why is re-flashing a big NO NO?

The PCM has to relearn the strategy, so the results you get before relearn is complete usually are not the best possible.  Also, you are assuming that the update has gone well - most likely true, but sometimes not.  You could also brick your PCM during a reflash, which is an additional risk.  This happens especially with weak batteries, but could happen for a miscellany of other reasons as well.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I wondered if the relearn affects WOT also, or just normal driving habits. Wouldn't relearn be an issue for someone tuning on a dyno?

Interesting... I flashed about 5 minutes from the track and ran those times, are you saying I could have gone faster with more cycles / more miles on the tune?

Possibly.  SHOs have typically lost a tenth or more on the track by running right after a reflash.  I am not sure how long it takes the Gen 2 Edge PCM to adjust, but I would give it a few WOT blasts as part of the learning curve prior to hitting the strip.

Livernois tunes need a little time to settle in, so yes in sense you could gain some.
