I really need to fix my Stang.  Damper broke and wallowed the keyway on the crank.  Need a new crank so I might do the entire rotating assembly and step it up to 363 cubes with more compression and run NA to last longer and not generate so much heat on the road course.  I don't want to go too high though so the s-trim can go back on for the strip occasionally.  I can add the Snow boost cooler I never installed.  I also have AFR 195's and a Systemax intake to go on when I put it back together.  I think those heads with the big bore will run really well NA.  My Eddy's are too small to take advantage of the 4.125" bore.

That sucks about your crank!!  Get your S-trim upgraded to the Si spec's while it's apart.  It's cheap and showed 1-1.5psi more average and 15* cooler IAT's on the course without a pulley change (7" lower 3" upper) I'm running ported 6037's.  When I do decide to take the bite on a Dart I'll do 363 like yourself and top with 11R heads.  They are magical.  Box in your radiator with sheet metal, it keeps mine at 190* on a 100* August day for a 25 minute session.

Yeah boxing and airflow is king for cooling.  Lot of people just throw a bigger "better" radiator at a heat issue and wonder why their temps did not magically improve.  The do not take the time to factor in or confirm proper airflow thru the core so that it works to its potential.  I put a 5L into a '78MGB with a stock brass core radiator.  Everyone else was throwing MX cores or cutting sheetmetal to put huge radiators in.  A pair of 8" ducted fans mounted right on my stock MG radiator kept that car right at 190*, even sitting in traffic on a 90* day.

I have a lot of work to do!  Bought the AFR's before I heard about how good the 11R's are snd before I knew my crank was shot.  Still in box!  Got 195's to keep it smogable.  Maybe I'll just replace my 3.25 forged Scat crank and stay big bore 9:1 347 and upgrade the S-trim.  I was only running 6psi with a huge 4.1" pulley.  That kept me right at 11.50.  No rollbar.

Sorry for hijacking thread.  Let us know how the next shifting experiment goes.  My tune with the lowered shift points has too many other changes for a direct comparison.
