Hello,

Name is JJ I joined to research the ecoboost drivetrain because I am pretty certain my next vehicle will be an SHO or Explorer Sport. I have been around a couple blocks as a fairly active forum member based on past and present project vehicles. I have been a recreational grease monkey since the days of RC cars in my child-hood, through home made go-carts, to ATV's, then onto cars and trucks. I was a professional auto body repair tech from 16 to 23 years old off and on through college and am now a mechanical engineer.

I have a custom built Jeep Rock crawler. I spend a lot of time on Pirate4x4.com for that. the image below is my personal Jeep. I also build and maintain my best friend's Jeep so we can go wheeling together.

I have dabbled in the Subaru world (Nasioc.com, RS25.com) with a 6-speed swaped 2001 Impreza Coupe as my DD for the past 12 years. Unfortunately, I never had the time to swap in the turbo charged motor into it... This is now going to be sold and replaced with something Ecoboost.

My most recent project has been a frame off restoration of a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with the Cummins 5.9L 12 valve I-6 engine. This is my tow pig that I built to tow our Jeeps to the trail head. 2 1/2 year build that is just now tidying up the loose ends. This thing is by far the most powerful thing I have ever owned. Running around 450hp and over 1,000ft-lbs of torque while never taking it over 3000rpm. This my first diesel and first completed turbo charged vehicle. I have been pretty active over on Cumminsforum.com for this project.

Great intro.

Drivetrain is THE LAST uncharted territory for the EB platform.

Myself, and a small handful of others, have recently began dabbling into the subject matter due to being the higher/highest hp builds to date.

We welcome your input, as well as your foray into the EB realms.

They're fun cars for sure as plenty will attest to.

I think I just got some good news. Unconfirmed but I am likely to receive the Owner of the company's 2016 explorer sport when his lease runs out. And it could be SUPER cheap. bad news is I might have to anxiously wait for another year...

Welcome!  Just means more time to plan and budget!  Are you a member of shoforum btw?

And that is an impressive portfolio, I must say!
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Yes, you and I have actually interacted on a few threads on there a year or so ago when I was just beginning my research.
