Had my wheels off to do the ptu fluid change and inspected the brakes when I noticed something. Is something supposed to go here?

Rear brakes ???  Sometimes there is a Torx or Philips set screw there from the factory, not really needed afterwards.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

You see a screw there a lot on the German and Jap cars. I'm sure there is a reason but with 4-5 lug nuts torqued at 100+ foot pounds, I doubt that little screw is gonna do much...

t40 torx bit screw.  I drilled all of mine out because they were all rusted.  All it does is hold the rotor in place when the wheels are removed from the car.  Other than that, they're pointless.

Its to hold the rotor in place.    4.42 ea
I think you will need a torx T-40 to install/remove it.  Z

Simple solution to not having that screw when replacing rotors is just to use a lug nut to hold the rotor in place.  It will accomplish the same thing that screw is for.

Ok, thx

Dorman also has Phillips head replacements. I think you get 8 screws for $6 or so. I used them on mine when the OE torx screws got mangled. Per the service manual, they are supposed to be replaced after removal, but as the guys indicated above, they just retain the rotors when the wheel is removed.

I put a moderate amount of antisieze on my screws and tighten them just enough to keep the rotor properly seated. The wheels/lugs keep things in place otherwise.

P.S. Aren't you proud of me, Z?! Not one mention of the 3-letter n-word! ;)
