IsFox86, are you driving this thing with traction control enabled? If so, do the 13 button clicks it takes to go into the menu and turn off traction control and trailer sway control. I read in one of your earlier posts that the LMS tune only takes off a "little" quicker than stock. My AJP Tune, which I am extremely happy with, takes off WAY quicker than stock. The power comes in much quicker, like immediately off the line. Stock, it sucked off the line. You could tell it wasn't getting WOT off the line and much boost with the stock tune. Stock, it doesn't really take off until you are up to around 20mph. My 60ft times at the track went from a best of 2.194 seconds stock to 1.958 seconds. This is huge and is on a 91 octane tune. My wife even had it spinning the front tires for the first 5 feet at the track with my first really moderate tune. It would spin a little before getting the power to the rear. It never did that stock. With that said, it doesn't take off nearly as quick with the tune if traction control is turned on. Turn it off and then you'll feel a difference. I have a hard time believing that the LMS tune is only a little quicker off the line. The sluggish launch was definitely my biggest complaint about the Explorer stock and the tune rectified that for sure, but you have to turn off traction control to really feel it.
I have another tune to try but I picked the wrong spot to datalog 5 months ago and I am waiting to test it at the track now after spending $450 on a ticket! It ran 14.54 stock and 13.81 tuned. It also picked up 4mph. Soon I'll be asking AJP for a hotter tune. I really want 13.5 @ 100mph. The current tune would probably do it if I ran it on a cold day. I was not able to get out there when the air was cold. I only ran it one night tuned and it was Extremely consistent compared to stock. I won runner up that night. I broke my collar bone 6 weeks ago and went back in a sling, after just getting out of a sling 5 months ago from shoulder surgery on the other side. Anyway, I hope to get the Ex back out to the track soon and get some logs and then turn it up a little. I am definitely happy with the performance daily driving. He didn't make any shift point changes. I might ask him about that too. The only thing I don't like about the stock shift points is how quickly it gets to 3rd and always seems to lock the converter just as I am rolling on the throttle in 3rd and wanting to feel it pull. It still pulls, but it messes with the senses to roll into it and hear the rpms drop as the converter locks eventhough you are accelerating. Not a big deal, just the one spot that could use shifting improvement. This is just unchanged from the stock tune.
