I bought my wife a 2014 MKT Ecoboost and loved it so much I decided to get myself a 2011 MKS Ecoboost with the appearance package.
Since I go back and forth between the cars quite frequently I'm able to notice the differences in the cars easily. Both cars are stock.
The MKT feels much peppier and has way better throttle response along with quicker shifting and quicker response to downshifting. Seems to have more pick up as well. From what I read both cars have the same engine and drivetrain.
Now I don't think anything is necessarily wrong with the MKS, and I probably wouldn't notice any of this if I didn't have anything to compare it to.
My question is, what changes could account for this?
Is it just possible the 2013+ Ecoboost cars just have a revised tune from the factory?
Do they have any different components?
Might it be that I should disconnect the battery to reset the computer's previous driver pattern?
Are their any things I should have checked on the MKS?
Both were 1 owner cars with 40k miles.
I plan on getting a tune eventually on the MKS but if their is anything I could do before that to get the MKS more on par with the MKT, I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance everyone.
