Just curious, but is it happening at a shift point and/or high RPM?

Brad hopped me up so much over stock on a 91 tune that I ended up hitting the rev limiter with my stock shift points and had big drop in power and what sounded like free spinning engine. I thought I blew my trans, but he just needed to pull up the stock shift points a touch to prevent hitting the rev limits.

I could see if you were spinning in snow that you might rev up a lot faster than just charging along on dry pavement, so maybe it's hitting some sort of rev limit? My "Torque Source" read 4 at the time of my events, which indicates "Engine Speed Limiter".

If you are hitting the rev limiter, or bouncing off it is to speak, as MiWiAu said, you should hear a babababa noise. I got my car to bounce of the rev limiter the other day when roads where wet, and traction control was one (was an accident) so I have no doubt it could be happening in the snow.

I'm keeping the revs with in 2nd gear I don't have a tune to allow bouncing off the rev limit if I hit limit to much it will shift I'm waiting to get home to share what I got from tourque and find a way to read the log I saved from forscan I thought i could load it on my phone

But I think there is just enough resistance in the snow that keeps the torque happy to not shutoff awd. Have to wait for my spot to get icy to test that theory out.

So got a new torque log of shutdown I tried to make it only the small portion but when I stopped log it automatically continued the log haven't looked in depth right now not really good with graphing.
I leaned yes on compacted snow much easier to get the AWD to shut off but there was enough powder if I eventually started sliding in that that it kept the AWD on.
