LMS stock tune file

Does the mycalibrator download the stock tune off the ECU like the SCT devices do when you hook it up?

For some reason I think that LMS loads the stock tune onto the tuner from their codebase when you update the tuner on your computer...

Anyone answer this?

I thought the same thing at first but then saw a post by LMS on why they need your "strategy code".
