We just picked up a 2013 F150 3.5l XLT to replace my wife's Trailblazer. Truck is fun so far, but I'll be staying far away from tunes until there is better data on what is blowing engines up.

Do I have to type the confirmation prompts for every post?

Something about the TB makes people switch to ford, I did the same!

Only problem I have ever had with my TB is interior is a cheap. But so are most vehicles around that time. She runs good and strong and has always been reliable (except when my transmission pump went out at 170k miles).

Congrats on the new F150! I have driven a bunch of those for work and always liked them.

Engines really aren't blowing up though....Failure rate is really low....I can only think of a few that had failures and some of them weren't even tuned.....That's an extremely low occurrence rate

I've never been impressed with Chevy's truck interiors. We had a 1991 S10 Blazer where literally every single plastic component would break when moved, including the arm rest. First thing that went out in the Trailblazer was the armrest. Then the center console broke off the bracket, and the 4WD switch broke.
The horn failed due to corrosion on the contacts behind the airbag, the gear controlling the HVAC vents in the rear failed, but I couldn't repair it because I'd have to drain and cap the rear evaporator and heater core, the blower control failed, the idler pulley seized up on our trip to Arizona in 2011 leaving us stranded 30 miles south of Burley, ID until AAA picked us up, the vacuum controller for the gas tank failed, as well as the gas cap itself and finally the transmission stopped shifting into third or OD. I got that fixed and then two months later we got rear-ended and that was that.

Hopefully we have better luck with the F150.

Welcome, Devin!  the confirmation prompts should go away within 5 posts, i believe.  helps keep the spambots at bay (prior history).

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Great, thanks!

I'm sure I'll be less dour about this purchase as I get more used to it.

Being blindsided into a purchase can be a hard pill to swallow ...
