66k for an F150? Geez...
I find it insane too, but people are buying 'em at that price point, and even higher. Utter silliness.

Soon car payments are going to be mortgages.
Mine is now higher than my mortgage. Granted, I have a low mortgage.
There's two ways to look at it...
1. The sticker on my Lincoln 6 years ago was a hair over $50k. The truck has all of the same features plus additional safety stuff and more advanced electronics PLUS has the capability to tow 12,700 lbs. So, $16k more, but it's 6 years newer, has more features, and substantially more capability.
2. It's a, not built all that well, Ford and should never cost this much.
What are really, really poor values to me are XLT's. I test drove a $56k window sticker XLT that lacked substantial features that come standard in a Corolla or Honda Fit. Granted, Ford prices them stupid high so they can throw $10k worth of incentives at them, but at the end of the day they are still expensive and stripped of features. With just a bit of negotiating I got $9k off of sticker on a Platinum that is actually pretty darn nice with lots of features.
Still, that makes it $57k. So, where's my color changing ambient lighting and CD player!!!
