A scare tactic Amsoil commercial and I haven't heard a peep out of my engine at 6500 rpm at WOT. I am not going to buy into all that hype to pay a high price for oil that I don't need and hell my 1004cc 190+ hp snowmobile engine that I run at 8860 rpm has oil injection ??

Completely different machines...not comparable...read some stuff...you do know that there are spark tables in the tune addressing LSPI...wait a sec, no you dont lol...and actually amsoil isnt really all that expensive

The first time you hear LSPI (AKA Megaknock) will be the last as your engine will be in pieces.

That video isn't a scare tactic, it's a real phenomenon that the OEM's have encountered as engines get smaller and torque density increases. It doesn't happen on NA engines and it doesn't happen at 6500 RPM, which your car doesn't even hit unless you've had it adjusted in the tune. It's sporadic and spontaneous and all it takes low speed mixed with some boost and a hot spot.

OK I see this thread is going nowhere.  Auggie, you are of course free to use what you feel is right for your vehicle, and we all wish you the best of luck with your strategy.  Keep us updated on how it works out.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

SHOdded, I will keep you informed on the condition of my 2015 SHO engine well using conventional 5W-30 Pennzoil. The engine now has around 25000 miles on the OD and I have yet to hear any LSPI at any engine speed and so far this engine does not use any oil between oil changes at least according to the dipstick. There have been some changes to the later model  engines internals to control oil getting into the combustion chamber and diluting the fuel mixture to control LSPI. As you know LSPI can be caused by other factors as well. Anyhow I had fun with this discussion and keep up the good work.
